“Got it,” Hu Yuying replied softly, glancing back at him.
She knew he was speaking to her.
What should have been a quick watering session ended up taking quite a while with the three girls playing around.
Once they were tired, Long Aotian, wearing rubber shoes, began tossing the seeds into the holes Hu Yuying had dug.
“I’ll go get you some water,” Hu Yuying said, heading toward the small house.
“I’ll help you get the cups,” Li Qingxue chimed in, following her.
Lin Wanning sat on a small stool, resting her chin on one hand, her gaze fixed on Long Aotian.
As soon as he finished, Long Aotian stood up and met Lin Wanning’s eyes.
In her gaze, it seemed like he was all she could see.
Noticing Long Aotian looking at her, Lin Wanning slightly parted her lips, mimicking a playful bite, then licked her lips and smiled at him.
It was so blatant.
Clearing his throat, Long Aotian shifted his gaze away. “Are you alright?”
He had heard from Yuying that Lin Wanning had looked pale and exhausted during their video call yesterday, and he knew he had been a bit too much then.
“I’m fine after a night’s rest,” she said, playfully winking. “Actually, my endurance is quite strong too.”
“If you want, I’m all yours, Brother.”
Hearing her tone, Long Aotian figured she was mostly okay now.
He didn’t want to dwell on it further; who knew what shocking things she might say next?
He took off his gloves and set them aside just as Hu Yuying came out with a water jug.
“Long Ge, drink some water.” She poured him a cup and placed it in his hands.
Today, he had been doing most of the work, much like the husbands in their village who, after a long day of farming, would always receive the first cup of water and bowl of rice from their wives.
Long Aotian gulped down the water and smiled at Hu Yuying. “This is really good.”
Hearing this, and glancing at Li Qingxue and Lin Wanning, Hu Yuying playfully rolled her eyes. “It’s just plain water; how can it be that good?”
Seeing her like this, Long Aotian could only smile.
When he smiled, Hu Yuying couldn’t help but show a faint smile of her own. She turned away from him and said to Li Qingxue and Lin Wanning, “You should drink too.”
Li Qingxue sniffed the air and shook her head. “It smells too strong; I can’t drink it. It’s got that sweet, romantic scent.”
Her joke made Lin Wanning laugh out loud.
“Qingxue~” Hu Yuying stomped her foot. “You’re teasing me again.”
As she spoke, she shyly glanced at Long Aotian.
Seeing him just grinning at her made her heart swell with happiness.
How could one not like someone who always put her first?
But since the workers were still around today, she refrained from tickling Li Qingxue. They were such good friends, and when it was just the two of them, anything went, but it was best to behave in front of others.
Long Aotian absentmindedly ruffled the little girl’s hair, realizing he hadn’t had the chance to comb her hair yet today.

Hearing this, Hu Yuying turned to look at Long Aotian, thinking the same: she felt their relationship was quite good too.
Long Aotian glanced at Lin Wanning but focused more on Hu Yuying.
