Looking at the empty room, she chuckled as she closed the door again. "Looks like they’ve made up."
"No wonder yesterday felt so different when I got back."
Early to the market is the way to go.
Hu Yuying woke up early and prepared breakfast, patiently sitting on the steps waiting for Long Aotian.
After they finished eating, the two set off.
"Long Ge, slow down! You're going too fast!" Hu Yuying shouted from her little stool at the back, her voice carried by the wind.
She could sense that Long Ge was particularly excited today.
The tricycle zipped past car after car, moving at an impressive speed.
Long Aotian was indeed a bit hyper; he had been cooped up at home for days, feeling like he was suffocating. Even he joked about being born to be busy.
"It’s fine, Long Ge rides really well. We need to make the most of our time."
"Alright then."
Hu Yuying always tended to go along with her Long Ge.
They sped along, and it still took nearly an hour to reach their destination.
Even so, there were already many people here.
Long Aotian pulled out a cigarette, took a look around, and then parked the tricycle in an open area. "This will do."
"Okay."
Hu Yuying jumped off the tricycle and helped Long Aotian set up the sunshade.
Their teamwork hadn’t faltered despite the days of inactivity.
Before long, their stall was all set up.
Hu Yuying looked at the clothes hanging from the sunshade and smiled. "This looks much more pleasant."
For the past few days, she had laid the clothes on the ground, which made for easy cleanup but lacked any visual appeal.
Indeed, this way was much more comfortable to look at.
Once everything was ready, Long Aotian turned to Hu Yuying. "Can you take out your phone for a moment?"
"Sure." Hu Yuying took out her phone and handed it to Long Aotian.
"Add this friend." Long Aotian passed her his old-style mobile phone.
Seeing the penguin number and the note beside it that read "Li Qingxue," her hand hesitated for a moment.
But she quickly added the penguin number.
After finishing, Hu Yuying felt a twinge of guilt and stole a glance at Long Aotian. Biting her lip, she clicked back and entered their chat interface.
She knew this wasn’t right, but she couldn’t help but want to take a peek.
"All set?"
The sudden voice startled Hu Yuying, and she quickly clicked to exit.
"Look at that guilty expression on your face," Long Aotian said, half-jokingly.
"Take a few pictures or a video to send her. You might be classmates soon, so it’s good to keep in touch."
"Friends can be few, but you must never be without friends."
Li Qingxue was a nice person, and her personality complemented Hu Yuying’s well.
Being in the same school, they could look out for each other, which was actually quite nice.
Given Li Qingxue’s personality, she would likely make friends quickly at school. After all, humans aren’t solitary creatures, and Long Aotian naturally hoped Hu Yuying would meet more friends.
"I got it, Long Ge." Hu Yuying obediently picked up her phone and took a few pictures of their stall.
Then she stood on the road and snapped several photos of the bustling market.
Meanwhile, a sleepy Li Qingxue heard her phone buzzing with notifications. Rubbing her long hair, she lazily turned over and grabbed her phone, which was charging nearby.
When she saw the market photos sent by a stranger, she instantly perked up. First, she clicked to add the friend, then began browsing through the pictures.
The market was filled with various stalls, bustling with activity.
It was fascinating.
She clicked on the friend’s profile picture to enter their space.
Inside, it was empty, with nothing at all.
Exiting the space, she went to the messages.
The account was female, named: Gu Yue.
"Gu Yue? Is that Hu Yuying?" Li Qingxue murmured.
After all, she had only spoken to Long Aotian about wanting to see the lively market and whether there were many fun things to do.
With that username, she instinctively thought that the person accompanying Long Aotian was Hu Yuying.
In a moment of daze, she quickly rubbed her face. "Li Qingxue, what are you thinking? Didn’t you already figure out they’re a couple? Stop overthinking!"
So she exited and sent a message with a picture: "Good morning!"
"Is it Yuying?" she clicked send.
When Hu Yuying saw the reply on her phone, she felt a rush of nervousness at first.
After all, she had only chatted with Long Ge before.
"Long Ge, Qingxue messaged me." When in doubt, she turned to Long Ge; in her heart, he was capable of handling anything with ease.
Long Aotian nodded, not looking up. "Yep, your task today is to communicate well with your future classmate."
"Okay." Hu Yuying obediently sat back down on her little stool and began typing on her phone.
"Qingxue, Long Ge said you wanted to see the market, but it’s still early, and not many people are here yet. Once it gets busier, it’ll be lively."
After sending the message, Li Qingxue replied almost instantly: "No worries, I’m just a bit curious. Did you arrive early? Have you had breakfast yet?"
A brief exchange of pleasantries can really bring people closer together.
At least Hu Yuying smiled brightly upon reading the message.
Long Aotian watched Hu Yuying grinning at her phone and couldn’t help but shake his head, amused.
"I’m going to find a restroom and see where it is."
Hu Yuying looked up. "Okay." She nodded, "I’ll keep an eye on the stall."
After Long Aotian left, Hu Yuying’s phone buzzed repeatedly.
Looking down, she saw a video call invitation.
Nervously clenching her fingers, she remembered Long Aotian’s words, took a deep breath, and clicked to answer.
In the next moment, Li Qingxue’s face appeared on the screen, her fluffy long hair framing her delicate features, creating a charmingly disheveled beauty.
"Hi, Qingxue," Hu Yuying said, a bit nervous but still managing to greet her first.
Although she had seen Li Qingxue at school before, it was always Long Ge chatting with her, and Hu Yuying had never really talked to her. So now, with Li Qingxue calling her on video, she felt a bit anxious.
"Wow, Yuying, your skin looks amazing! What brand of moisturizer do you use?" Li Qingxue asked, smiling as she saw Hu Yuying’s face on the phone.
Hearing Li Qingxue’s compliment, Hu Yuying’s cheeks flushed. "Oh, it’s just regular Dabao."
"And your skin looks great too!"
"Hehe, thanks." While Hu Yuying felt shy about the compliment, Li Qingxue beamed with happiness at being praised for her skin.
...
**Chapter 121: Long Ge Said**
"Are those clothes behind you all yours?"
Hu Yuying was sitting in front of the stall, so Li Qingxue could see the clothes hanging behind her.
"Yep, all of them," Hu Yuying said proudly, looking at the full display of clothes.
"They look nice! Can I buy one?" Li Qingxue pointed to a white short-sleeve shirt that would match perfectly with her pants today.
"Of course!" Hu Yuying smiled.
She then stood up and moved closer to the clothes. "Qingxue, tell me which one you like, and I’ll help you find your size."
"Is it this one?"
"This one is similar to what I’m wearing. Want me to show you how it looks on me?"
After saying that, she placed the phone on the small table, adjusted the angle, and stepped back to ensure her whole body was in the frame.
As Hu Yuying appeared on the screen, she wore a simple white ice silk short-sleeve shirt and black ice silk pants.
In the sunlight, her skin looked even fairer. Perhaps it was the first time she was showcasing herself on the phone, or maybe it was the growing crowd around her, but her cheeks flushed slightly.
She looked fresh and innocent, or rather, very youthful and pure.
The simple outfit on Hu Yuying exuded an indescribable sense of purity, and the blush on her cheeks added a touch of charm to her innocence.
"Is it ready?" Hu Yuying softly asked, glancing at the phone on the table.
"All set," Li Qingxue’s voice came from the phone.
Hu Yuying let out a sigh of relief and quickly picked up the phone again.
"This is how it looks on me."
