Chapter 51

As Hu Yuying returned to Class 1, Li Qingxue whispered, "Are you really going to hit her? Long Aotian, don’t bully girls."

Long Aotian shot a glance at Li Qingxue. "Hit you instead."

Li Qingxue tilted her head, a smile blooming in her eyes. "You’re just kidding. I can tell you wouldn’t really hit a girl."

"On the contrary, you’re really nice to Hu Yuying."

"Yeah." Long Aotian didn’t deny it. He gazed in the direction Hu Yuying had left, his voice calm but tinged with an emotion Li Qingxue couldn’t quite grasp. "Because I understand her a little."

"What do you mean?" Li Qingxue asked instinctively.

"Sadness."

This was a feeling Li Qingxue couldn’t yet comprehend.

If she went to college, entered society, experienced the cutthroat nature of life, or faced the harsh realities of the world, perhaps then she would understand the meaning of "sadness" that lingered on Long Aotian's lips.

"Understanding her is a sad thing," Long Aotian murmured so softly that Li Qingxue didn’t catch it.

...

On the other side.

In the restroom.

Gao Quan was grimacing as he rubbed his palm, where a clear bite mark was still visible.

"Chen Ge, why did you bite my hand?"

Ye Liangchen leaned against the restroom wall, staring up at the ceiling, seemingly trying to hide the sadness within.

What had he just seen?

He had seen Li Qingxue standing next to Long Aotian.

He had seen Long Aotian raise his hand and strike Hu Yuying hard on the head!

His heart ached!

It was an indescribable pain, as if his heart had been shattered into countless pieces in an instant.

He almost lost control and wanted to rush over to confront Long Aotian to protect Hu Yuying.

But he couldn’t!

His premature appearance had made Long Aotian feel threatened, igniting a vicious possessiveness within him.

That was what forced Long Aotian to corner Hu Yuying...

What would Long Aotian do if he saw Ye Liangchen helping Hu Yuying?

Let’s be clear, Ye Liangchen wasn’t really afraid of Long Aotian.

Though his body was still eighteen, his soul had returned with the wisdom of a twenty-eight-year-old.

How could a twenty-eight-year-old truly fear Long Aotian?

He wasn’t afraid, but that didn’t mean Hu Yuying wasn’t.

He just didn’t want Hu Yuying to be bullied by the fiercely possessive Long Aotian because of him.

"It’s nothing, Quan. Don’t ask. I just want some quiet."

He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and slowly exhaled.

He patted Gao Quan on the shoulder. "Sorry, I lost control for a moment there!"

Gao Quan was still a bit angry, but hearing Ye Liangchen say that, he could only helplessly ask, "Why did you bite me? It really hurt."

"I know, because I’m afraid of pain too." After saying this, Ye Liangchen peeked outside to check the hallway.

With class about to start, there weren’t many people left in the corridor.

"Let’s go back," Ye Liangchen said, stepping out of the restroom first.

As they passed by Class 6, Ye Liangchen glanced through the window at Li Qingxue.

"Things are getting interesting. I don’t know if you’re trying to provoke me with Long Aotian or what!"

"But one day, when you realize that Long Aotian is just a violent trash of a guy, I’ll be waiting for you to come crying to me!"

"Don’t say I didn’t warn you."

After whispering this, Ye Liangchen shot a fierce glare at Long Aotian through the window.

"You better watch out. After this exam, it’ll be the moment I meet the treasure girl!"

"But this time, I’ve decided to be ruthless. I won’t just ruin your reputation; I’ll make you wish you were dead, humiliating you thoroughly!"

"Think you can compete with me? Don’t forget, I’m a reborn soul with resources you can’t even imagine!"

**Chapter 61: A Girl's Intuition**

By the end of the morning, only two subjects had been tested.

As the bell rang, students began to leave the classroom, some returning to their own classes to discuss the difficulty of the exams with their friends, while others headed straight to the cafeteria.

Hu Yuying stood quietly at the entrance of Class 1, patiently waiting.

Before long, she spotted Long Aotian walking out of Class 6.

Her eyes sparkled with a smile as she approached him. "Long Ge, what happened to your hair?"

What had once been a handsome hairstyle now resembled a bird’s nest.

Li Qingxue couldn’t help but chuckle at this. While others might not know, she was well aware.

After finishing her questions early and checking her work, she had glanced at Long Aotian a couple of times.

She had seen him stick a pen up his nose, tug at his hair, and scratch his head, looking quite distressed. In the end, he even started tossing paper scraps around, as if he were making choices on a test.

After two classes, his hair had transformed into the current mess.

"It’s nothing, just overthinking. Let’s go eat," Long Aotian explained to Hu Yuying.

"Oh." Hu Yuying looked at his disheveled hair, suppressing a laugh as she nodded.

Just as Li Qingxue was about to step forward, she was pulled back by Wang Rui. "Qingxue, my stomach hurts a bit. Can we stop by the restroom first?"

"Sure." After glancing at the two leaving, Li Qingxue shrugged and accompanied Wang Rui to the restroom.

"Ouch, I was about to burst! I should have known not to drink so much water," Wang Rui said, feeling much lighter after taking care of her business.

Wang Rui had a good personality, especially in front of friends, where she was quite candid.

"Let’s hurry. If we take too long, we might miss out on the good food," Li Qingxue reminded her.

"Right, right! We need to go quickly. The cafeteria will be packed today, and if we’re late, we might not even find a seat."

When they arrived at the cafeteria, it was indeed crowded.

Li Qingxue and Wang Rui carried their trays, searching for a place to sit.

"Ugh, I should have come earlier to save a spot before going to the restroom!" Wang Rui lamented.

Li Qingxue didn’t respond but scanned the area. Soon, her beautiful eyes curved into crescent moons. "Let’s share a table."

With that, she walked over to a nearby table.

Wang Rui hurried to follow her.

When she saw who was sitting at the table, Wang Rui instinctively halted.

She was about to call out to Li Qingxue to switch tables when she heard Li Qingxue’s voice, and the words she had intended to say got stuck in her throat.

"Is it okay to share a table?" Li Qingxue asked with a smile.

Long Aotian, gnawing on a chicken leg, pointed to the empty seat beside him when he saw it was Li Qingxue. "Go ahead."

"Thanks." Li Qingxue set her tray down and turned to Wang Rui. "Come on, sit here."

Wang Rui’s mouth twitched. When she saw Long Aotian looking at her with a chicken bone in his mouth, she quickly lowered her head and hurried to sit next to Hu Yuying.

Long Aotian chewed on his chicken leg, puzzled by Wang Rui’s reaction, not quite understanding what was going on.

First of all, he didn’t think he was unattractive.

Secondly, while he did eat a bit rudely, it shouldn’t scare someone like that, right?

Shaking his head, he continued eating.

Watching Long Aotian devour his food, Li Qingxue couldn’t help but think back to how he had stuck a pen up his nose and scratched his head in class.

The contrast was striking.

She couldn’t hold back a laugh.

Quickly covering her mouth, she said, "Sorry, I just thought of something funny."

Wang Rui felt a wave of anxiety for Li Qingxue, fearing that Long Aotian might suddenly explode and kick her out ten meters away.

Sure enough, the next second, Wang Rui heard Long Aotian’s voice. "What’s so funny? Share it with me so I can be happy too!"

Li Qingxue cautiously pointed at Long Aotian’s hair.

Long Aotian touched his hair, confused since he couldn’t see it and didn’t quite understand what Li Qingxue meant.

Li Qingxue took out her small mirror and held it up to Long Aotian.

With the help of the mirror, Long Aotian saw a tuft of hair sticking up, resembling the antenna of a Teletubby at first glance.

It must have been caused by him tugging at his hair while working on the test!

It wasn’t a big deal; boys often had messy hair.

But upon closer inspection, it was indeed a bit funny.

Looking at the mirror, Long Aotian raised his hand, ready to flatten that tuft of hair.

In the next moment, he saw a slender finger slowly rising through the mirror, eventually landing on the tuft of hair.

Feeling a gentle pressure on his head, Long Aotian froze, then looked up to see the figure leaning over the table, tilting toward him.
