**Chapter 58: I’ll Always Listen to My Big Brother**
Time flies.
Long Aotian now goes to Hu Yuying's house for meals every day.
After spending some time together, he can't help but feel that Hu Yuying, this little girl, seems to have gained quite a bit of weight.
Her face has filled out, and compared to her previous timid demeanor, the current Hu Yuying carries an inexplicable charm.
How to describe this feeling?
It’s like a character from a fantasy novel, born with a natural allure, though still a bit green due to her age.
It’s hard to imagine how beautiful she will be as she matures.
Long Aotian can only say, as expected of the female lead.
Before he knew it, the weekend had arrived.
It was time for the monthly mock exam.
In the last few days of each month, the senior year students naturally had their share of mock tests.
Unlike the smaller tests before, this one had a flavor of the real college entrance examination.
The entire senior class was shuffled according to their exam numbers.
For instance, Long Aotian’s exam number placed him in the last row of Class 6.
Hu Yuying’s exam number put her in the middle of Class 1.
“What are you so nervous about?” Long Aotian glanced at Hu Yuying beside him and said, “Come on, relax a bit. You’re making me nervous too.”
Hu Yuying looked at her exam number. Since transferring, she had participated in several class tests, and her scores were decent.
But this was the first time she and Long Aotian would be in different classes, and while she felt excited, there was also an indescribable feeling—she didn’t want to be too far from Long Aotian.
“I’m not nervous, just a bit unaccustomed,” Hu Yuying replied softly.
“What’s there to be unaccustomed to? We’re all in the same school.”
“Look at you now. If you go to college and suddenly find yourself in a strange city, in a new class with unfamiliar classmates, you wouldn’t want to crawl into a hole?”
Hearing Long Aotian talk about himself, Hu Yuying lowered her gaze and asked quietly, “Are you nervous, Long Ge?”
Long Aotian paused, glancing out the window with a hint of discomfort. “I wasn’t nervous, but now that you mention it, I’m starting to feel a bit anxious.”
With Hu Yuying’s help, Long Aotian had learned a lot, and now it was time to test the results of his studies. Saying he wasn’t nervous would be a lie.
After all, this was his first time taking such a large-scale mock exam at the end of the month.
Upon hearing this, Hu Yuying was momentarily taken aback, then she looked up at Long Aotian, and in that instant, their eyes met, causing both to break into laughter.
Strangely enough, that shared laughter made the last remnants of tension vanish.
“Relax, my little teacher will surely do well,” Long Aotian said softly.
“Yeah, I believe you’ll make great progress this time, Long Ge,” Hu Yuying nodded earnestly.
Just as Long Ge said, as long as there’s a goal in mind, the steps forward will never cease. While there may be thorns and obstacles along the way, as long as you keep moving, you’ll always get closer to your heart’s desire!
“Exactly, that’s the spirit!” Seeing Hu Yuying’s determination, Long Aotian clenched his fist and declared, “If you can get first place this time, I’ll take you out for a nice meal this weekend.”
Hu Yuying chuckled, a bit helpless. “Long Ge, please don’t treat me like a three-year-old. I’m already eighteen.”
Though she said that, Hu Yuying felt a surge of happiness inside.
Back when her parents were still around, they would say, “If Yuying makes progress in this exam, let’s take her to the amusement park…”
She glanced at Long Aotian, biting her lip softly as she said, “You can’t keep just sweet-talking me.”
“I won’t sweet-talk you this time!” Long Aotian promised.
There was no way around it; he had tricked Hu Yuying twice before, and surprisingly, she hadn’t forgotten.
Is this how all girls are?
With Long Aotian’s assurance, Hu Yuying beamed, “Alright, I’ll do my best this time.”
“Not just do your best, you must! If I don’t see your name in the top three, I’ll be furious!”
Hu Yuying nodded repeatedly, “Got it! But what if I mess up this time?”
“What?” Long Aotian lightly tapped her head. “You dare mess up?”
Hu Yuying hugged her head with both hands. Although it didn’t hurt, she felt a little happy inside.
She obediently started working on her exercises.
Hu Yuying had her own confidence, and that was in her studies.
At this point, her most valuable asset was her academic performance.
So when it came to exams, Hu Yuying wouldn’t take it lightly. It was just a casual remark, but seeing Long Aotian’s concern for her felt wonderful.
“No need to get up early to cook tomorrow; let’s eat at school,” Long Aotian said, stretching.
“No need to spend money. I can cook at home; it’s quick and easy.”
Hearing this, Long Aotian pinched the soft flesh of Hu Yuying’s cheek. “Are you arguing with me?”
“I can cook really fast,” Hu Yuying said softly, her face still pinched.
“What’s wrong with you? You’re not listening to your big brother? Do you want me to give you a beating?”
“Don’t hit me! I’ll always listen to my big brother!”
“That’s more like it.”
...
The next day.
Long Aotian first took Hu Yuying to grab a sausage and two eggs, then happily dropped her off at Class 1.
“See you after evening study,” Long Aotian said before turning to leave.
“Long Ge,” Hu Yuying called from behind. Long Aotian turned back, raising an eyebrow in curiosity.
“Um, can I come find you during the break after the exam?”
“I’ll be in Class 6, last row, the usual spot.”
“Okay.” With Long Aotian’s agreement, Hu Yuying felt relieved as she walked into the classroom.
Everyone in the classroom noticed this beautiful girl talking to the notorious Long Aotian.
They couldn’t help but steal a few more glances at her, just a couple of extra looks.
Class 6.
“We’re so lucky!” Wang Rui exclaimed, looking at Li Qingxue, who was just one aisle away, her excitement palpable.
They had been desk mates in their previous class, and now, with just an aisle separating them, they were practically desk mates again.
“Good luck!” Li Qingxue made a cheering gesture.
Just then, Wang Rui’s previously cheerful expression suddenly froze.
“What’s wrong? Why that face?” Li Qingxue noticed Wang Rui’s change and followed her gaze.
She saw a tall, muscular boy walking into the classroom...
**[Thanks to the brothers and sisters for the gifts and support, I really appreciate it! Love you all!]**
**Chapter 59: An Unexpected Wave of Emotion**
“Long Aotian.” Li Qingxue waved her hand at the figure appearing outside the classroom.
As Long Aotian stepped into the classroom, he spotted Li Qingxue waving at him.
He walked over with a smile. “What a coincidence, you’re in this class too.”
“Yeah! Where’s your seat?” Li Qingxue asked, completely unaware of Wang Rui’s stunned expression beside her.
Wang Rui glanced at Long Aotian, then quickly averted her gaze, turning to Li Qingxue, who was beaming, and couldn’t help but feel a bit anxious for her.
“Over there.” Long Aotian pointed to the last row by the window.
“Why does it feel like you and that seat are meant to be?” Li Qingxue joked, unable to resist.
After all, in Class 7, Long Aotian had the same seat.
Long Aotian shrugged. “Who knows?”
“By the way, have you had breakfast?” Li Qingxue asked, pulling out a sandwich and milk from her backpack. “Here, have this.”
Last time, when Long Aotian had accompanied her and offered support, he hadn’t taken her milk, so she thought she’d make it up to him today.
“Thanks, but I already ate in the cafeteria.”
Watching the two chat and laugh as if they were old friends, Wang Rui shook her head, still in disbelief.
She couldn’t understand how Li Qingxue knew Long Aotian.
At school, she had always been by Li Qingxue’s side, going to the restroom together, having lunch together.
She had never seen Li Qingxue interact with Long Aotian, but the scene before her clearly indicated that they seemed quite familiar!
Fortunately, it was the end-of-month mock test today, so they didn’t chat for long before Long Aotian headed to the last row.
