Chapter 167

“Is Long Ge not here today?” Hu Yuying looked at the tightly shut door, puzzled.

“Maybe the workers have the day off too.”

Hu Yuying stepped forward and tried to open the door. “It’s not locked.” With that, she walked inside.

Creak~

Hearing the sound, Hu Yuying called out, “Long Ge?”

At the sound of her voice, Long Aotian turned to look.

In the next moment, their eyes met.

Long Aotian stared blankly at Hu Yuying, whose small face was suddenly flushed. The bowl in his hand dropped to the floor.

Hu Yuying’s body stiffened, her hand hovering awkwardly, her gaze slowly drifting downward.

Her pupils constricted; she had never seen a male body in the nude before. She could feel her cheeks burning uncontrollably.

It wasn’t until Long Ge trembled and covered himself with his hand that Hu Yuying finally snapped back to reality, taking a shallow breath, her hands and feet unsure of what to do.

“Yuying, why are you just standing there? Why don’t you come in?”

Hearing Li Qingxue’s voice, Hu Yuying quickly turned around, biting her lip nervously. “I, I, I... we’re out of water at home. Let’s go buy some together.”

As she spoke, she used her body to block Li Qingxue’s view, awkwardly pulling her and Lin Wanning out the door.

“Yuying, why is your face so red?”

Hu Yuying gently touched her cheek. “Red? Really? Maybe it’s just the heat. Come on, let’s go get some water.”

As Hu Yuying led Li Qingxue and Lin Wanning away for the time being, Long Aotian staggered, steadying himself against the water tank. “My youth has been exposed...”

Inside the store.

“Yuying, why are you so distracted?” Li Qingxue placed the water on the counter, glancing at Hu Yuying, who seemed lost in thought, and nudged her with her shoulder.

Suddenly jolted, Hu Yuying blinked and looked at Li Qingxue, confused. “What’s wrong, Qingxue?”

“It’s you who’s wrong! You’ve been daydreaming since earlier.”

“Yeah, look at the bag in your hands. If you grip it any harder, you’ll tear it apart,” Lin Wanning chimed in with a soft laugh after paying.

As they walked back toward the alley, Hu Yuying glanced at the increasingly familiar door and hurried ahead a couple of steps. “I’ll go open the door.”

Just as she reached the entrance, the door swung open from the inside.

Long Aotian’s strong figure appeared before her.

The moment their eyes met, Hu Yuying’s face flushed again, uncontrollably.

She instinctively looked down.

Long Aotian cleared his throat awkwardly, a finger pointing at Hu Yuying’s forehead. He coughed a couple of times and said softly, “Haven’t you seen enough?”

At his words, Hu Yuying instinctively shook her head.

“Hmm?”

Hu Yuying paused for a moment, then quickly nodded.

This reaction made Long Aotian both amused and exasperated. “I told you, you’re greedy and lustful, yet you refuse to admit it!”

He then pretended to be nonchalant as he looked at Li Qingxue and Lin Wanning, who were catching up. “Why didn’t you give me a heads-up that you were coming?”

Li Qingxue and Lin Wanning didn’t think much of it and excitedly said, “We brought you a gift! Guess what it is?”

Long Aotian glanced at Hu Yuying out of the corner of his eye and noticed her face was even redder, as if she might just melt away from embarrassment.

“Let’s go inside first.” He stepped aside, looking at Hu Yuying, who was still staring at the ground, fiddling with her clothes. “Aren’t you coming in?”

“Oh, oh.” Hu Yuying didn’t dare to look up at Long Aotian, keeping her head down as she walked past him into the courtyard, behaving almost too obediently.

Once Li Qingxue and Lin Wanning entered as well, Long Aotian rubbed his face vigorously, trying to adjust his emotions before following them inside.

Chapter 202: Long Ge, My Feet Hurt

This room was specially cleared out by Long Aotian, and it was kept very tidy.

There was a simple foldable bed, and the pots and pans they had bought earlier were also placed in this room.

As soon as he entered, he saw the three girls handing him a gift bag.

Looking at the clothes inside, Long Aotian smiled. “You didn’t have to bring anything; it feels a bit embarrassing.”

Seeing the smile on Long Aotian’s face, the three girls held back their laughter.

He was genuinely happy, his eyes nearly squinting with joy.

“Bro, why don’t you try it on first?” Lin Wanning suggested eagerly, wanting to see if the clothes she picked out fit him. The three girls then left the room.

Before long, Long Aotian emerged.

He wore jeans, a light-colored top, and a black jacket.

His damp hair was a bit tousled from changing clothes, and the top was slightly loose, the neckline askew, revealing his left collarbone. It was a bit bold yet exuded a kind of rebellious charm.

“It fits perfectly; I really like it.” His smile was warm, radiating sunshine, clearly showing he was sincere, not pretending.

Hu Yuying peeked at him, unconsciously biting her lip, and gently stepped forward to adjust his top.

Her movements were soft, as if this was something she was meant to do.

But the moment their eyes met, she hurriedly turned away, the earlier embarrassment flooding back. She didn’t want Long Ge to see her blushing.

Li Qingxue and Lin Wanning couldn’t help but chuckle at the scene. Hu Yuying’s shy demeanor was amusing to them.

They were also a bit curious; they had never seen Hu Yuying blush like this before. What was going on today?

Could it be because of what Ye Liangchen had said?

It was quite funny; back then, Hu Yuying had stood in front of them and declared, “That’s our business, not yours,” reminiscent of a concubine protecting her fellow wives in ancient times.

Long Aotian knew Hu Yuying too well. To avoid making her too shy, he suggested, “How about we cook at home later?”

The three girls readily agreed.

Eating out and eating at home truly evoke different feelings.

“I’ll go buy some ingredients.” Long Aotian said as he walked outside, stopping at the corner without looking back. “Hu Yuying, come with me.”

Suddenly being called out, Hu Yuying was taken aback for a moment before quickly responding.

“Quick, or I’ll hit you!”

“Oh, oh.” Hu Yuying turned to Li Qingxue and Lin Wanning. “I’m going to buy vegetables. Is there anything you want to eat?”

“Anything’s fine.”

“Just hurry up; be careful or Long Ge will hit you!”

Hu Yuying’s cheeks flushed at Li Qingxue’s teasing. She quietly defended Long Ge, saying, “He wouldn’t do that.”

After saying that, she jogged to catch up with Long Ge, just like the timid little follower she used to be.

Long Ge walked ahead, and Hu Yuying followed behind like a little tail.

Stealing a glance at Long Ge’s back, Hu Yuying smiled softly; she loved following him.

They walked through streets, arriving at a small bridge. Below, a stream flowed, the sound of water soothing and relaxing.

Suddenly, Long Aotian stopped, and Hu Yuying, who had been lost in thought and smiling foolishly, bumped into his back.

Rubbing her forehead, she looked up at Long Ge in confusion.

Long Aotian sighed, looking at Hu Yuying, who was rubbing her forehead. “What’s with you? Why are you so scatterbrained all the time?”

Hearing this, Hu Yuying stopped rubbing her head and smiled up at him. “I’m not scatterbrained!”

“You’re so silly. Remember this little bridge; just past it is the vegetable market.” Long Aotian ruffled Hu Yuying’s hair, genuinely unsure how to handle her.

She used to be obedient out of fear of him.

Now, she didn’t seem afraid at all.

Feeling Long Ge’s hand gently stroking her hair, Hu Yuying savored each touch, leaning into it, responding to his affection.

As Long Aotian withdrew his hand, Hu Yuying slowly opened her slightly dazed eyes, looking up at him with a hint of greed. She whispered, “Long Ge, my feet hurt.”

“What’s wrong?” Long Aotian looked down at her.

“Maybe my shoes don’t fit well. I’ve been walking for a long time today, and they’re rubbing against my feet.”

Hu Yuying looked earnestly at Long Aotian, her gaze evasive, speaking so softly it was like a feather falling: “Can you take a look for me, Long Ge?”

Before Long Aotian could respond, Hu Yuying had already sat down on the edge of the bridge, looking as if she wouldn’t move until he helped her.

Honestly, having known Hu Yuying for so long, this was the first time he saw her throwing a little tantrum. She was too afraid to look him in the eye, sitting there obediently in front of him.
