Chapter 196

“Wan Ning, you sing so beautifully! Who knows, you might just become the next generation's star,” it wasn’t just a compliment, but a heartfelt exclamation.

“Then let me sign something for you now; it might be worth something in the future,” Lin Wan Ning said, slowly starting to enjoy the cheerful atmosphere, half-jokingly.

“Alright then.”

With that, Hu Yu Ying and Li Qing Xue turned their faces away.

Lin Wan Ning stepped forward and planted a kiss on both of their cheeks.

...

After Long Ao Tian and Huang Fei finished their showers and returned, they greeted everyone, changed into clean clothes, and left the dorm again.

“Leaving again? At least stay the night! You have no idea how lonely I've been these past few days,” Li Long Long said, watching Long Ao Tian's retreating figure.

“Maybe next time.”

Once they left the school, following the location Hu Yu Ying had shared, they quickly found the place.

On the second floor, as they passed by a room, Long Ao Tian glanced inside.

He frowned and stepped back.

The KTV room door had a small glass panel, allowing a clear view inside.

In Long Ao Tian's line of sight, a girl dressed in a crop top was swaying her alluring waist, one hand holding a beer and the other a phone, seemingly chatting.

One of the boys approached her, saying something that made her red lips curve into a smile. She then tilted the beer towards his mouth, and with a gentle flick of her finger, the boy quickly downed the entire bottle.

After that, Shen Meng Jie chuckled softly and settled onto the sofa, while the boy squatted beside her...

Long Ao Tian withdrew his gaze; it was too noisy in the KTV to hear what they were saying.

But from what he could see, Shen Meng Jie seemed to be in complete control of the situation.

That boy had been led around by Shen Meng Jie from the start.

Thinking of Huang Fei back in their dorm, clutching his phone and anxiously waiting for a reply...

Long Ao Tian shook his head helplessly. It wasn’t that he lacked charm; it was just that the other party was on a whole different level.

The two of them were simply not in the same league.

With that thought, Long Ao Tian found the room number Hu Yu Ying had sent him.

As he pushed the door open, he was momentarily stunned.

In his view, Lin Wan Ning's red lips first pressed against Hu Yu Ying's cheek, then against Li Qing Xue's.

The three girls were momentarily taken aback, looking up at the door that had just been pushed open.

Upon seeing him, they instantly panicked.

They hurriedly got up and sat down properly.

Hu Yu Ying awkwardly stood up and walked over to Long Ao Tian. “Long Ge, it’s not what you think.”

Li Qing Xue and Lin Wan Ning also got up and joined him, starting to explain.

“No more of this in the future.”

Li Qing Xue shot Long Ao Tian a glare. “You’re jealous over this?”

“Bro, are you really going to be jealous of your sister?” Lin Wan Ning chimed in, not backing down.

“Long Ge, don’t say anything about Qing Xue and Wan Ning,” Hu Yu Ying gently tugged at Long Ao Tian's shirt.

The three girls stood together, united in their stance.

This made Long Ao Tian feel both amused and exasperated.

He was amused because their friendship was truly heartwarming, and he felt happy for them.

He was exasperated because he hadn’t even had enough time with his own girlfriend...

And then there was that time he had just stepped out to buy some soda, only to return and find his little girl blushing, looking like she was about to burst...

Long Ao Tian pointed at his own cheek in annoyance.

Seeing this, Hu Yu Ying bit her lip, feeling a bit shy, but still tiptoed and planted a sweet kiss on his cheek.

Feeling the warmth of Hu Yu Ying's soft lips on his face, Long Ao Tian looked smugly at Li Qing Xue.

Li Qing Xue couldn’t stand the sight of Long Ao Tian’s smugness and stepped on his foot.

Seeing Long Ao Tian wince in pain, she hummed a little tune, pulling Hu Yu Ying to sit on the sofa.

Lin Wan Ning looked at Long Ao Tian, her eyes filled with concern. “Brother, does it hurt?”

As she spoke, before Long Ao Tian could react, she kissed him on the left cheek. “I’m sorry, Brother. I won’t make you jealous again. Please forgive me.”

Long Ao Tian stared at Lin Wan Ning in shock, instinctively glancing at Hu Yu Ying and Li Qing Xue, thankfully, the two little ones hadn’t noticed.

He wanted to say something, but seeing Lin Wan Ning’s sincere and slightly guilty expression, he awkwardly smiled. “It’s really nothing. How could I actually be jealous of you guys?”

“Thank you, Brother.” Upon hearing that Long Ao Tian wasn’t really angry, Lin Wan Ning’s face lit up with joy, as if a cloud had been lifted.

Watching the three girls choose songs and sing, Long Ao Tian wiped the sweat from his forehead...

Chapter 238: And So This Place Became Home

Watching Lin Wan Ning playfully interact with Hu Yu Ying, Long Ao Tian touched his cheek and walked over.

He felt a moment of guilt earlier, making him uneasy.

But Lin Wan Ning seemed genuinely carefree, playing, singing, and teaching Hu Yu Ying and Li Qing Xue how to control their breath while singing...

In the KTV, it felt like Lin Wan Ning was in her element.

Many popular songs, when sung with her unique voice, took on a different flavor.

“Wan Ning, with your singing skills, if you entered a competition, you’d definitely win.”

“I’m still just a beginner. Right now, my studies come first; I need to gain more experience.” Though she was modest, hearing her friends’ praise made Lin Wan Ning’s smile even brighter.

“You’re being too humble. I’ve seen some singing competitions, and you sing better than them. Just ask Long Ao Tian,” Li Qing Xue said, purely enjoying the lively atmosphere.

Under normal circumstances, the three girls and Long Ao Tian were already quite familiar with each other.

When Li Qing Xue suddenly mentioned Long Ao Tian’s name, it was instinctive for them to glance at him.

But Lin Wan Ning, feeling a bit shy, tried hard to avoid looking at Long Ao Tian.

It was a bit self-deceiving, but it seemed to work for now.

“If you get the chance, you should bravely give it a try.”

Hearing Long Ao Tian’s voice, Lin Wan Ning finally looked up, and their eyes met, her beautiful eyes curving into crescent moons. “Okay.”

She actually listened to Long Ao Tian quite well.

After giving him a deep look, she turned her gaze away, everything feeling so natural.

After a while of playing, Long Ao Tian took the three girls and left.

As they went downstairs, Long Ao Tian deliberately glanced at the KTV room near the stairs.

Through the glass, he saw the same group of people inside, but Shen Meng Jie was nowhere to be found.

It seemed things weren’t exactly as he had imagined.

Ten minutes later, Long Ao Tian felt foolish for that thought.

On the pedestrian street, he looked oddly at the two figures standing at the restaurant entrance.

The man was unfamiliar, but the girl was none other than Shen Meng Jie, whom he had seen earlier at the KTV.

The two were chatting and laughing, without the noisy music from the KTV.

He could actually hear some of their conversation.

Shen Meng Jie’s cheeks flushed. “How can I let my senior treat me to dinner?”

The boy, referred to as “senior,” flashed a confident and charming smile at the blushing Shen Meng Jie. “We’ve been chatting on QQ for a while, and now that we finally meet, it’s only right for me to treat you to dinner as your senior. It’s a way for us to get to know each other better.”

Upon hearing this, Shen Meng Jie bit her lip, seemingly hesitating. Finally, she looked up at the boy and said softly, “Thank you, senior.”

Long Ao Tian’s mouth twitched. He hadn’t seen her in the morning, but just from noon until now... it was a bit terrifying!

“Long Ge, what are you looking at?” Hu Yu Ying asked softly.

Long Ao Tian withdrew his gaze, chuckling awkwardly as he shook his head. “Nothing.”

After a simple meal, he sent Lin Wan Ning back to school and parted ways with Li Qing Xue at the subway entrance.

Long Ao Tian took the initiative to hold Hu Yu Ying’s hand. “Did you have fun today?”

“Very happy.” Hu Yu Ying let Long Ao Tian lead her hand as they walked down the street. Every moment spent with him was filled with joy.

In the past, they would talk endlessly, but now, even in silence, her heart felt content.

The companionship outweighed familiarity; as long as they were together, even without words, just a glance seemed to convey their thoughts.

This feeling was truly wonderful. If it had to be described, it was like how they used to be—friends, lovers.

Now, it felt more like... family?

Perhaps that metaphor wasn’t entirely fitting, but it seemed to capture the essence of it.
