The students in Class Ten were struggling to hold back their laughter, and even the students from the sports class couldn’t help but laugh.
Someone whispered with a laugh, “This is fucking hilarious.”
“Shawn Douglas really is funny, and he sucks at basketball too.”
“Damn, why did I ever play for him before…”
Ethan Brooks noticed that Logan Carter kept fiddling with his phone and leaned over to look: “Hey, Lu-dog, what are you doing?”
“Nothing,” Logan Carter replied.
He glanced at Shawn Douglas, who had already finished his dance and come down. It seemed he’d realized he was being targeted on purpose, and there was an uncomfortable look in his eyes whenever he glanced at Gavin Dawson.
After everyone dispersed, Logan Carter told Ethan Brooks he’d return to the classroom later and told Ethan Brooks to go ahead.
He looked around, then followed after Shawn Douglas.
Shawn Douglas headed straight for the restroom. Since it was class time, the restroom was empty. Hearing footsteps, Shawn Douglas turned around and, seeing who it was, looked a bit wary: “Lu-ge?”
“I want to discuss something with you.”
Shawn Douglas was a bit confused: “What is it?”
Logan Carter held his phone out a bit. On the screen was a video of Shawn Douglas doing the exercise routine. He must have started recording later, so only Shawn Douglas was in the frame. His clumsy moves paired with the aerobics music made for a hilarious effect.
Shawn Douglas instinctively tried to snatch the phone.
Logan Carter anticipated his move, pulled his hand back, and easily dodged.
Seeing his sneak attack fail, Shawn Douglas didn’t dare keep fighting for the phone and simply changed his attitude.
“Delete it, Lu-ge.” Shawn Douglas forced a smile. “There’s no use keeping that thing. There are tons of funny videos online. If you like watching them, I can send you some later. We’re not even friends yet, right? Since we got to know each other through a fight, how about we add each other and chat…”
“You agree to one thing for me, and I’ll delete the video.”
“What is it? If it’s too hard, I might not be able to do it.” Hearing that he was willing to delete the video, Shawn Douglas became even more eager. “Don’t make it too hard for me. If it’s something you can’t do, I definitely can’t.”
“It’s not hard,” Logan Carter smiled. “I’ll delete the video, and you stop bothering Gavin Dawson.”
Shawn Douglas froze, mouth open but unable to speak.
Logan Carter saw all his hesitation and looked up, nonchalant: “Is that too much for you? Then I’ll keep it. It’s pretty funny, and I’d like to share the joy with others.”
If Logan Carter sent out that video, and everyone who saw it today added their own embellishments about how it came to be, his reputation would be completely trashed.
“No, no, no!” Shawn Douglas cared a lot about saving face—otherwise, he wouldn’t have egged on his classmates to play basketball against Class Ten. Logan Carter had hit his soft spot exactly: “From now on, if I see Gavin Dawson, I’ll go the other way—no, I’ll run the other way, okay? How would I dare mess with someone you’re protecting?”
Logan Carter nodded and tapped his phone a couple of times. “Deleted.”
“Lu-ge, can I…”
Logan Carter glanced at him: “Don’t trust me?”
He had single eyelids, and when he looked at people sideways, his gaze was especially sharp.
Shawn Douglas was unnerved by that look, but forced a smile: “Of course I trust you, ge. I just wanted to check, to put my mind at ease.”
Logan Carter said nothing, pulled up his photo album, and showed Shawn Douglas.
It really was deleted.
Shawn Douglas breathed a sigh of relief.
With the leverage gone, his nerves relaxed. He thought to himself that a young master like Logan Carter was still a bit naive, taking a verbal agreement so seriously. Even though he wouldn’t dare mess with Gavin Dawson openly, he could still do something behind the scenes…
Just as he was thinking this—
“Don’t forget what you promised me,” Logan Carter patted his shoulder lightly and walked past him toward the door. “If you forget, I’ll have to remind you, and that’ll be trouble for both of us.”
Whether intentionally or not, the moment Logan Carter’s fingers touched Shawn Douglas, a wave of Alpha pheromones crashed down on him.
That instant of aggression was like dropping a bomb on Shawn Douglas’s shoulder.
Suppression between Alphas is the most direct—instinct makes them naturally repel each other. Out of courtesy, Alphas usually use pheromone blockers.
Shawn Douglas was so overwhelmed by the pheromones that his mind went blank. Even after Logan Carter walked away, he still hadn’t moved.
At some point, he broke out in a cold sweat.

Logan Carter walked over to Class Ten and saw the classmates who’d returned to the classroom before him. Now, they were standing outside the classroom door like a bunch of lost dogs, each holding a workbook and racking their brains.
Logan Carter remembered—it was chemistry class.
Their chemistry teacher was a middle-aged man with a bad temper, strict and merciless with students. Judging by the scene, the chemistry teacher had locked all the students who skipped class out of the room.
Ethan Brooks saw him coming and waved his workbook: “The teacher said he originally wanted us to use this period to work on our workbooks. But since we were missing for most of the class, it means we only need a small part of the period to finish this stuff. If we don’t finish these two chapters before class ends, we have to copy all the key points from both chapters.”
Sean Jordan had already accepted his fate: “Which two chapters? Let me see how much there is.”
