Chapter 12

Megan Shaw frowned. “Why are you threatening him?”

Mr. Walker almost burst out laughing. “Mr. Shaw, your class’s students have quite the temper.”

Gavin Dawson: “He started it by talking about me first.”

Megan Shaw: “So what did he say about you? How bad was it? Did you really have to get physical with him?”

Gavin Dawson: “……”

He had been able to say those crude words in front of his peers earlier, but now, with a room full of teachers listening, he really couldn’t bring himself to say it out loud.

As the standoff continued, someone knocked on the office door from outside.

“Come in.”

In came Logan Carter and a girl.

Gavin Dawson found the girl somewhat familiar—she seemed to be the Omega who had been chatting with Shawn Douglas earlier.

“Mr. Shaw, Mr. Walker, Shawn Douglas previously said some gender-insulting things.” Logan Carter stepped aside, exposing the girl to everyone’s view. “Molly Stone can testify.”

At first, the teachers all thought that verbal attacks between students, even with some swearing, were just words. But when it came to gender, it was a completely different matter.

This was discrimination.

Mr. Walker was stunned for a moment. Ever since Logan Carter had entered, he hadn’t dared to keep defending Shawn Douglas. Now, he looked directly at the girl. “Molly Stone, did Shawn Douglas really say those things?”

The girl hesitated. “He did… he said some really nasty things.”

She glanced at Logan Carter, who nodded at her, giving her courage. “It wasn’t just me—Jack Reed, Benjamin Hughes, and others passing by all heard it. Shawn Douglas was talking about Gavin Dawson, and Gavin Dawson only fought him after hearing it.”

Logan Carter held out his phone, showing a screenshot. “Yesterday, Shawn Douglas posted something on his Moments, mentioning some things…”

He didn’t finish, but the pause was just right.

Megan Shaw and Mr. Walker saw the screenshot clearly and both frowned.

It was a joking post, with Shawn Douglas mocking the school’s “prince” for fooling around in the bathroom, and making sexually suggestive jokes about the Omega who had an accident.

Although no names were mentioned, it was obvious to everyone that those three characters referred to Logan Carter.

Shawn Douglas stared at the screenshot on the phone in disbelief. He had already deleted the post after being warned, and he hadn’t even added Logan Carter as a friend. How did Logan Carter get the screenshot?

Just then, the teacher who had gone to check the surveillance returned.

“It’s all clear now. Both are students from Mr. Shaw’s class. They entered the bathroom one after the other, just a few minutes apart…”

The situation couldn’t be clearer.

Logan Carter was completely dragged into this, and Megan Shaw finally breathed a sigh of relief. If Logan Carter had really been involved, the Lu family would definitely pressure the school, and she’d be caught between both sides.

After discussing, the teachers also asked for the students’ opinions, and finally decided to give both Gavin Dawson and Shawn Douglas a warning. Each had to write a 3,000-word reflection and apologize to each other.

Shawn Douglas was the first to lower his head and apologize to Logan Carter and Gavin Dawson.

Then it was Gavin Dawson’s turn.

Gavin Dawson looked at him for a while, then drawled, “Sorry, I didn’t hold back and ended up hurting you.”

His apology was insincere, but considering how precious Omegas were, and the harm Gavin Dawson had suffered, Megan Shaw simply turned a blind eye and said nothing.

She hadn’t expected Logan Carter to stir things up as well.

“I was at fault too,” Logan Carter said to Shawn Douglas. “I should have stopped him earlier. Maybe then you wouldn’t have gotten hurt so badly.”

Gavin Dawson was amused, barely holding back his laughter in front of the teachers. He quickly chimed in, “Yeah, why didn’t you stop me sooner?”

Logan Carter lifted his eyelids, the corners of his lips curving slightly.

He naturally had an air of aloofness, as if he was above it all. Even when apologizing, he didn’t seem very sincere.

Sure enough, Logan Carter’s ability to get under people’s skin didn’t disappoint Gavin Dawson: “Mainly, it was the first time I’d seen an Alpha unable to fight back after being beaten by an Omega. I was just stunned.”

As he spoke, he even lightly patted the trembling Shawn Douglas on the shoulder. “Sorry about that, hope you can be understanding.”

He sounded sincere, but that “hope you can be understanding” came off more like “you’re just weak.”

They left the office.

On the way back to the classroom, Gavin Dawson walked beside Logan Carter.

For the first time, he found this person somewhat agreeable.

“Why did that girl suddenly decide to speak up for me? And that screenshot on your phone… where did you get it?”

“Molly Stone is a good person. She came to me on her own after seeing you called to the office. Someone sent me the screenshot last night,” Logan Carter said, the smile at the corner of his lips deepening, as if he found Shawn Douglas’s self-sabotage very amusing. “Didn’t expect him to walk right into it.”

The implication was that even if Shawn Douglas hadn’t caused trouble today, he hadn’t planned to let him off.

Gavin Dawson suddenly found this person a little scary.

But it was only for a moment. Then Gavin Dawson remembered how Shawn Douglas had been rendered speechless by Logan Carter, and couldn’t hold back—he started laughing again.
