Chapter 658

She wandered aimlessly, hardly thinking about where she was headed, but when she came to her senses, she found herself standing before the door of the Russell Marquisate.

Somewhat uncertain about what to do next, Xia'er instinctively walked toward the place where Aivina was.

After hesitating for a moment, Xia'er took two steps forward. The attendant at the door noticed her and promptly opened it, respectfully inviting her inside.

Fortunately, Aivina was still at home and hadn’t left yet. The maid led Xia'er to the door of Aivina's room, where the melodious sound of a violin floated out.

Once the maid left, Xia'er raised her hand and slowly pushed the door open.

In the bright room, Aivina stood with her back to the large window, slightly tilting her head as she played the violin with her eyes closed, her posture elegant.

Today, Aivina wore a slightly larger silver-framed pair of glasses. The decorative silver chain on the right side of the frame hung down under the pull of gravity, glimmering like a brilliant silver thread in the sunlight.

As if she had heard the sound of the door opening, Aivina slowly opened her eyes and looked at Xia'er, who was closing the door, stopping her performance.

“Xia'er?” Aivina called softly, her voice gentle, as if surprised by Xia'er’s arrival.

In Aivina's mind, they had only just parted ways not long ago.

“Why did you start practicing?” Xia'er recognized the piece Aivina was playing—it was the violin version of "Für Elise," the same piece they had played together at her teacher's.

“Nothing much,” Aivina replied expressionlessly after putting the violin down. “Just felt like practicing.”

“Miss me?” Xia'er stepped closer to Aivina, smiling as she asked.

“No.” Aivina maintained a straight face, turning her head slightly to the side, deliberately avoiding eye contact with Xia'er.

Just a fleeting glance exchanged between them had made Aivina's heart race, causing her to shy away from looking at Xia'er again, afraid of revealing her feelings.

“And you? What brings you here?” Aivina chose to change the subject, taking a gentle breath before looking at Xia'er. “Is there something you need me to do?”

“Actually, there is.” Xia'er nodded.

“Oh.” Aivina's tone noticeably cooled, but she still spoke calmly. “What is it?”

She didn’t like the feeling that Xia'er only sought her out when there was something to discuss.

“My shoulders have been a bit sore lately. Could you help me with a massage?” Xia'er rubbed her shoulders, looking up at Aivina with a smile.

Aivina: “...”

She had braced herself for Xia'er to bring up some earth-shattering issue, but instead, Xia'er’s request left her momentarily speechless.

She stared at Xia'er, and after several seconds, confirming that the smile in Xia'er’s eyes was genuine, she let out a slow breath of relief.

Had Xia'er... resolved everything?

She couldn’t help but take a closer look at Xia'er’s spirit... It seemed even weaker than before she had left after lunch.

This indicated that Xia'er had at least undergone another time jump, but judging by her current demeanor... the outcome seemed to be positive?

“Okay.” Aivina nodded gently.

Huh?

Xia'er tilted her head slightly.

Aivina actually agreed?

She had prepared herself for Aivina to refuse, so she could tease her a bit, but Aivina had surprisingly said yes?

This caught Xia'er off guard.

Aivina was more direct, stepping past Xia'er toward the sofa, then patting it and glancing back at Xia'er, her eyes indicating for her to come over.

Skeptical, Xia'er walked over and sat down on the sofa, still half-expecting Aivina to prank her in return, her shoulders still slightly tense.

It wasn’t until she felt Aivina’s cool hand resting on her shoulder, gently kneading it a couple of times, that Xia'er finally relaxed completely.

Aivina’s massage lacked any particular technique or skill, and her touch was light, just a bit firmer than a caress. Yet, this gentle pressure slowly eased Xia'er’s body.

Though her body relaxed, Xia'er’s mind began to fill with questions.

What was going on with Aivina?

This was so unlike her usual self...

“Do you have anything else to do today?” Aivina’s voice came from behind Xia'er. Instinctively, Xia'er replied, “I shouldn’t have anything else to do for a while...”

Xia'er felt Aivina leaning closer from behind, her warm breath brushing against Xia'er’s ear.

“Would you like to relax a bit more?”

Huh?

Xia'er instinctively turned to look at Aivina, only to meet her gaze—eyes shimmering with a faint smile and a hint of purple light.

Aivina’s hand had slipped from Xia'er’s shoulder, and at that moment, Xia'er felt a wave of drowsiness wash over her.

“Ai...vina?” Caught off guard and defenseless, Xia'er could still think, but under Aivina’s soothing presence, her body and mind seemed to be slowly “shutting down,” and everything around her began to blur.

The more she closed her eyes, the more she felt a pleasant, comforting sensation in her mind, as if every synapse in her brain was urging her to give up all thoughts.

Xia'er didn’t switch to a different save point or use any abilities; she simply took one last look at Aivina before drifting into a deep sleep.

Once Xia'er was asleep, Aivina gently moved to the front of the sofa, mustering her strength to lift Xia'er.

Aivina was naturally small and, although Xia'er was light, the effort of moving her from the sofa to the bed still drained most of Aivina’s energy.

After laying Xia'er down on the bed, Aivina let out a soft sigh.

Xia'er’s mental state needed rest, which was why she had asked if Xia'er had any other plans for the day.

Using her ability to induce sleep was just a small act of revenge for Xia'er’s teasing.

Aivina clumsily helped Xia'er out of her shoes and stockings, removing some of her more constricting clothing.

After doing all this, Aivina seemed to have little strength left. Taking care of someone who had passed out was just as exhausting as looking after a drunk person.

After gently covering Xia'er with a blanket, Aivina kissed her forehead.

But just as Aivina was about to leave, something seemed to occur to her, and she pulled the blanket back.

She slightly disheveled Xia'er’s clothing, even pulling down her undergarments halfway. Satisfied with her handiwork, she covered Xia'er back up with the blanket... She didn’t want to disturb Xiaer's sleep, considering it a small prank.

She began to imagine how Xia'er would react upon waking to find herself in such disarray... Xia'er would surely be flustered and angry, yet too intimidated by Aivina’s hypnotic ability to say anything.

Previously, Xia'er had never been an extraordinary being, so Aivina had never used her powers on her.

But now that Xia'er was a Level 1 extraordinary being, it was time to demonstrate the suppression of Level 2.

From now on, no matter what Aivina did to Xia'er, she would have to passively endure it.

Victory.

Aivina’s lips curled into a slight smile.

But she didn’t realize that her actions resembled a husband without any extraordinary abilities who had knocked out his fully aware wife, then pretended to have had an intimate encounter, fantasizing that she would wake up admiring him.

This was what people referred to as... a mental victory.

It was quite normal for a mental-type extraordinary being to employ a mental victory, right?

**Chapter 337: A Hint from the Future?**

Just seeing Xia'er’s back made Aivina unable to suppress her thoughts about what had happened yesterday, her heart racing.

She tried to get out of bed, putting on her clothes. Aside from a faint bruise on her wrist and some kiss marks on her body, she felt only the soreness of her muscles, seemingly uninjured.

It was drizzling outside, making it impossible to gauge the time by the sunlight, but judging by how long she had slept, it was clear she had been out for quite a while.

After a moment’s hesitation, Aivina gritted her teeth and walked toward Xia'er.

Last night, Xia'er had gone too far!

Even though she had explained that it was just a prank and nothing more, Xia'er still wouldn’t let it go...
