Chapter 132

“Did you use some extraordinary item from the Otherworld?”

The Otherworld...

This was the second time that Shaer had heard this term from someone else's lips; the first time was from Bishop Hui Guang.

In truth, even now, Shaer only had a vague understanding of what the so-called "Otherworld" was. He knew that entering it could drive one mad, that all extraordinary items would be distorted, and that it could summon forth terrifying entities.

“What is the ‘Otherworld’?”

Instead of directly answering Aivina's question, Shaer asked.

“You don’t know?”

Aivina seemed a bit surprised by Shaer’s reaction.

After a moment of thought, she shook her head and said, “I’m not entirely sure what the Otherworld is either. There’s very little information about it... Aside from the Church, not many people delve into the knowledge related to the Otherworld.”

“I only know that the Otherworld is a realm that overlaps with reality, and different churches have different names for it... like ‘Spirit World’ or ‘Soul Realm’.”

“It’s an extremely dangerous place, filled with all sorts of horrifying creatures... Some churches can communicate with the Otherworld through special methods, but once you face an entity or item from the Otherworld, the higher your spiritual vision, the greater the mental pollution you’ll suffer.”

After hesitating for a moment, Aivina thought of the trust they shared and continued, “Niya once entered the Otherworld, and then the potion went out of control, turning her into what she is now.”

“She... is already one hundred and twenty years old this year.”

Shaer understood now why the spiritual entity he had sacrificed in the simulation hadn’t directly affected Bragg and Aivina, while Niya in the simulation had lost all ability to resist after just a glance.

“Is the situation serious now?” Shaer asked.

“It’s not serious; she didn’t face any items from the Otherworld, so she’s fine...” Aivina shook her head and added, “I think I need to speed up the ‘psychologist’ replication ritual.”

Previously, Aivina hadn’t understood why Shaer’s spiritual body was polluted and damaged. But after learning about the connection between Shaer’s group and the Otherworld, she began to grasp the situation.

Looking at Shaer, she didn’t even realize that his spiritual pollution was due to the Otherworld.

That damned organization... they’re truly a bunch of lunatics.

Whether it was for Niya, who had protected herself since childhood, or for Shaer, who might have inadvertently faced the Otherworld, Aivina had to complete the ‘psychologist’ replication ritual as soon as possible.

At that moment, Shaer was deep in thought.

Spiritual summoning... can pollute the spiritual body...

But if it’s a spiritual entity summoned by oneself, it seems to develop a fondness for the summoner, thus not causing any harm.

In the future, large-scale spiritual summoning should be minimized; if one day he summoned something truly formidable, it would be a real problem.

Fortunately, the spiritual entity he had summoned this time had already been called forth twice in the simulation, and he was very clear about its abilities.

Moreover, judging by the current time, it should have already dissipated on its own.

Finally, Shaer shook his head and said, “Regardless, what’s done is done. The remaining matters are no longer our concern.”

“Yeah...” Aivina nodded.

The commotion in Bole City would likely disturb the peace for some time. Even though she was from the Russell family, no one would come to question her—after all, she was just a first-tier, not someone who could stir up such trouble.

Under Aivina’s healing, Niya gradually woke from her stupor.

After all this fuss, even Adele had lost her appetite. The group simply rummaged through Shaer’s home and made do with some leftover ingredients.

“Shaer, I need to get back to my private practice,” Aivina said, looking at Shaer. “Do you have any plans for later?”

“Me?” Shaer pondered and shook his head. “I don’t know. I just want to spend this holiday peacefully and then go to Ansu for school.”

And conveniently continue digesting potions in the simulation, filling up his archives... Though he said he wanted peace, the need to improve his strength was still pressing.

However, in his future schedule, he would need to visit Aivina and Adele more often, so they could check on his body and spiritual state, to avoid a repeat of the previous incident.

“Will you continue to assist me?” Aivina asked.

“If you don’t mind,” Shaer replied. In truth, he hadn’t figured out what he wanted to do next.

If he continued as an assistant, the pay was decent, the work was light, and he could rent a new place with his sister. He could then take her to Adele’s to see if there was any way to treat the burns on her skin from the potions.

But all of that required money, and Shaer felt awkward about continuing to take advantage of Adele’s resources. He could only take it one step at a time and see if there were other ways to earn money besides pillaging.

“Adele, what about you?” Aivina turned to Adele and said, “The clinic has quite a few vacant offices. If you need a place to store your equipment and process potions, you can come over; you can use any of the empty spaces.”

“Really?” Adele blinked, though she seemed a bit hesitant.

Since leaving the Redemption Society, Adele had moved out all her personal belongings, and now her experimental equipment was piled up at home, making it very difficult for her to conduct any experiments.

“I can hire you as a doctor at my clinic,” Aivina nodded. “Fifteen pounds a week. You can arrange your time freely outside of your clinic hours.”

“Ugh...” Adele gasped, and after a moment, she weakly said, “I don’t have that much money...”

Aivina: “...”

Aivina: “Fifteen pounds is your weekly salary, not what you pay me...”

Getting paid to work, you really are something else.

The atmosphere among the group gradually relaxed, but Shaer still had some matters to attend to.

He needed to confirm whether Aimi was safe.

Aimi might have sustained injuries to her spiritual body or physical form, so considering this, Shaer planned to visit Aimi’s home, bringing Aivina and Adele along. If Aimi had indeed been hurt, they could ask Adele or Aivina to help treat her.

When Aivina and Adele heard Shaer’s invitation to visit a friend, they readily agreed, eager to relax, and together they headed toward Aimi’s home.

Since Aivina had released the warhorse early, the group had to rent a carriage and returned to the Jazz Bridge District, arriving outside Aimi’s villa.

**Chapter Ninety-Five: What? I’ve become a Mother Goddess, and you’ve become a Saintess?**

In the garden of the villa’s front yard, a maid who was watering the plants noticed the carriage parked at the door. She quickly stopped her work, tidied her clothes, and approached.

“Good afternoon, ladies. How may I assist you...”

The maid slightly curtsied, but as she recognized the red-haired girl stepping down from the carriage, her words caught in her throat.

This was the beautiful girl who had conversed with Miss Aimi during the afternoon tea a few days ago. The maids had speculated for quite a while about her identity and her relationship with the young lady.

It was just idle gossip, but many of the maids had taken a liking to this red-haired girl.

Because when their eyes met, she would politely nod in greeting, and when she served food and utensils, she was generous with her thanks, showing none of the haughty demeanor typical of other young ladies.

“Miss, are you here to see Miss Aimi? She just returned not long ago; I’ll take you inside.”

The maid opened the iron gate and, seeing the other two young ladies and a bodyguard stepping down from the carriage, felt a thrill of excitement.

Two more young ladies? What’s going on? Is it what I think it is?

The maid, standing at the front line of the gossip, suppressed her curiosity and maintained a respectful distance as she led Shaer and the others to the villa’s entrance.

“Please wait a moment, ladies. I’ll go inform the mistress.”

With that, the maid bowed again and hurried inside, quickly making her way upstairs.

After waiting outside for about two minutes, two other maids came downstairs to meet them.

“Please, ladies, come to the reception room and wait a moment. Miss Aimi is changing.”

The new maid led Adele, Aivina, and Niya to the reception room, while the maid who had gone to inform the mistress stopped Shaer.

“Miss Shaer, Miss Aimi requests you to come to her room.”
