Chapter 233

Niya scratched her metallic chin with her fingers, clearing her throat awkwardly a couple of times as she glanced around.

The youth of today really are...

Niya raised her right hand, as if grasping something, and waved it toward the window.

A piece of red-hot iron armor flew through the air, sticking to the wall just below the window.

As Niya opened her palm, a thin metallic curtain slowly rose, enveloping the entire window and blocking the view of others.

She had heard a bit about matters between men and women over her long life, but could women really... have children together?

On the bright side, it seemed she wouldn’t have to remind the young lady about contraception anymore.

No wonder the young lady had always turned down those noble children’s dance invitations; it turned out the gender just didn’t match.

The moonlight is truly beautiful.

Niya crossed her arms over her chest plate and looked up at the moon, pondering these topics—over her long lifespan, she had grown accustomed to contemplating these “boring” matters to keep her mind active.

…(Wocuole, Shenhe)…

Meanwhile, in Shaer’s room, the faint fragrance of the girls intertwined in the air.

What began as simple exploration gradually intensified, and the girls’ breaths became heavier.

Aivina’s hands had already risen, threading through Shaer’s hair and resting on her neck.

Shaer’s cascading hair brushed against her face, enveloping her in Shaer’s scent. This dreamlike sensation made Aivina feel slightly breathless; she even forgot how to breathe, wanting nothing more than to prolong this moment.

Aivina didn’t even notice when she had closed her eyes. She didn’t know what to do next, only feeling that this was already blissful enough.

At least, this was the first time she had experienced such a delightful and relaxing feeling that seemed to allow her to abandon all reason.

Gradually, Aivina’s hands no longer merely rested on Shaer’s neck; they began to slide down, exploring different sensations with her fingertips.

However, a drop of water fell onto her tightly shut left eye, snapping Aivina back to reality. She slowly opened her right eye and looked at Shaer, who also had her eyes closed.

But at that moment, Shaer had tears glistening in her eyes.

Shaer?

Aivina withdrew her hands, gently pressing on Shaer’s shoulders to push her back a little. After calming her breath, she whispered, “Did I... hurt you?”

Aivina’s voice was slightly tense; she didn’t even know how much strength she had used—truthfully, she hadn’t used much at all.

“Hmm? It’s fine…”

In Aivina’s view, Shaer slowly straightened her back, then unexpectedly raised her hand to touch her own cheek.

At that moment, it seemed Shaer had just realized she was crying.

“How strange…”

Shaer rubbed her face with her hand, but the more she wiped, the more tears flowed, as if the dam had burst, even though she had no intention of crying at all.

Even Shaer didn’t realize that the pressure she had been holding deep inside was being released at this moment.

Tonight, just now, might have been the moment Shaer felt the least pressure since three years ago.

In that instant, she felt free from thoughts of life and death, survival, and strength; all she needed to do was let go of her burdens.

Yet, as she regained her senses, the whispers in her mind and the tearing pain in her spirit reminded her that she still lived in a dangerous world.

She felt no sadness, only a complex emotion that was hard for her to explain, even to herself.

Lying on the bed, Aivina looked at Shaer, who sat there crying, and felt a pang in her heart.

How much suffering had Shaer endured when she acted alone in places Aivina couldn’t see? How much pain had she buried deep within?

Although Aivina had only performed mental healing on Shaer twice, she had sensed intense emotions of pain each time, and each was a different kind of suffering.

Aivina knew that Shaer had many secrets yet to be uncovered.

But Aivina wouldn’t ask directly; if she could open Shaer’s heart, she would share them willingly.

For now, what mattered most was that Shaer needed rest, to let her spirit relax completely.

Aivina slowly raised her hand and grasped Shaer’s arm.

Startled by the sudden grip, Shaer looked down at Aivina with confusion, and then she felt a gentle pull from Aivina’s hand.

Though the force was slight, Shaer didn’t resist; instead, she leaned down slowly, following Aivina’s lead.

Just as Shaer’s cheek was about to touch Aivina’s face, Aivina suddenly turned her body, as if to change positions.

But as Aivina exerted herself, Shaer instinctively steadied herself, leaving Aivina blushing and unable to move an inch.

Smack.

Aivina’s hands landed on Shaer’s cheeks, and she said, flustered, “No using strength!”

“Hmm…”

Shaer seemed unaware that she had inadvertently embarrassed Aivina; she simply complied with Aivina’s words, no longer using strength, allowing her to turn and change positions.

Aivina reached out, untying Shaer’s belt and slipping off the dress stained with some blood, leaving only a thin underdress.

As Aivina’s hands moved to her own waist, she seemed to remember something, taking Shaer’s left hand and placing it in front of Shaer’s eyes, whispering, “Cover your eyes…”

“Hmm…”

Shaer obediently raised her hands to cover her eyes. In the darkness, she could only hear the rustling sound of clothes being removed.

“Take your hands away…”

“Okay.”

Shaer lowered her hands, looking at Aivina, whose face was flushed. She took a handkerchief and began to wipe away the tear stains on her face.

Plop—

After cleaning Shaer’s face, Aivina snapped her fingers, extinguishing the candle that was already nearly burnt out.

With the metallic curtain blocking the window, not even a sliver of moonlight could seep in, plunging the room into absolute darkness in an instant.

In the dark, the chaotic screams in Shaer’s mind seemed to grow clearer, and she slowly clenched her fists, her spirit tensing once more.

In the pitch-black room, Shaer felt Aivina had gotten off her and was searching for something on the bed.

Soon, Shaer sensed something approaching her head, and through touch, she recognized what it was.

A pillow?

Shaer raised her hand to brush her disheveled hair aside, slowly lifting her head as the pillow was placed under it. Then, Aivina pulled up the blanket, covering them both.

The room was so quiet that only their breathing could be heard. Before long, Shaer felt Aivina’s arm gently wrap around her head, and her cheek rested against a small, soft area of silk.

Aivina began to sing softly, a lullaby that Shaer had heard before, one that Aivina often hummed.

The lullaby, infused with the “psychologist” ability, gradually calmed the chaotic whispers in Shaer’s mind, allowing her tense muscles to relax.

After hesitating for a moment, Shaer reached out and wrapped her arms around Aivina’s slender waist, slowly closing her eyes.

Thank you, Aivina.

Shaer didn’t voice this thought; she knew Aivina probably didn’t like to hear such things. Perhaps instead of verbal gratitude, doing something meaningful would interest Aivina more, even if it was just a small, heartfelt gift.

Shaer’s complex emotions gradually settled, her tense spirit began to ease, and with Aivina’s warmth, fragrance, and gentle humming accompanying her, she slowly drifted off to sleep.

If only Aivina could sleep beside her every night…

As she fell asleep, that was the only thought left in Shaer’s mind.

The next day.

In Berlun City, Clock Tower Alley, No. 144, North-South Stone Street.

Aivina stood by the bed, getting dressed, while Shaer, still lying on the bed, slowly opened her eyes only after Aivina had finished putting on her clothes.

As soon as she opened her eyes, Shaer felt an indescribable sense of relief.

Aside from the whispers still screaming in her mind, her spirit seemed to have received a significant boost and recovery, no longer feeling that constant tension she had before.
