Chapter 559

**April Fool's Day! It's April! Let the chaos continue!**

**Good night!!!!**

**Chapter 288: The "Listener" with Visual Impairment (4002 words)**

Has Sadana gone mad?

After chatting with the Pure White Knight, Xia Er felt surprisingly unshocked.

After all, Sadana's roar had sounded anything but sane.

This is going to be tricky... If it were a creature from the Otherworld like the Dark Worm or the Pure White Knight, Xia Er could at least attempt to communicate, to negotiate, and see if there was any room for compromise.

But being entangled with a madman? That's just bad luck.

Moreover, Xia Er had noticed a troubling issue.

So far, she had not encountered a single "Transcendent" in reality.

Even when she had simulated a city massacre, not a single Transcendent had emerged... Instead, in the Otherworld, those "Otherworldly beings" exhibited characteristics that matched those of Transcendents.

Whether it was the Dark Worm or the Pure White Knight, their abilities far surpassed those of a Tier 4 Extraordinary, clearly existing above that level.

On the other hand, it seemed that the vast majority of beings in the Otherworld had gone mad... At least, that was how it felt based on Xia Er's own explorations.

Of course, the beings Xia Er could summon were mostly sane and had a favorable impression of her, likely due to the filtering nature of her "Spiritual Summoning" skill—only those capable of communication would be summoned, while those who couldn't would completely ignore her calls.

If someone were to ask Xia Er why the beings she summoned could communicate, it would be akin to asking why so many people are sick in a hospital—it's a question that would require a deep conversation over dinner with Adele.

It was time to prepare to digest the "Listener" potion and the "Ascetic" potion. Before leaving the simulation, she needed to store these two potions.

In addition, she had to document Adele's research findings and clarify the promotion details for Aivina, to alleviate their pressure in reality and speed up their progress.

Perhaps due to the Otherworld's corruption and her proactive communication with the Pure White Knight, Xia Er's mind felt hazy, compounded by physical and mental fatigue.

Although sleep in the simulation couldn't restore her spirit as quickly as normal sleep, it could at least alleviate some of her exhaustion.

Xia Er had a premonition that digesting the "Ascetic" potion might have strong side effects, as she had never properly completed the "Ascetic" replication ritual, while she had managed to complete the "Listener" one quite well.

So, tomorrow she would start by drinking the "Ascetic" potion, then let her body recover with the "Listener" potion, using it to navigate the subsequent simulation time.

As she planned for the next day, Xia Er's heavy eyelids finally closed, and she drifted into a deep sleep.

She didn't know how long it had been, but when she felt a beam of light hitting her eyelids, she slowly opened her eyes.

Her spirit was still somewhat sluggish, but the fatigue in her body and mind had lessened significantly... Mainly, she felt a bit of pressure lifted from her heart, which counted as a form of rest.

However, when Xia Er opened her eyes, she realized she could see everything in front of her even before her eyes had fully adjusted.

Are my eyes still not back to normal?

It seemed that both the "Listener" and "Ascetic" had retained their visual impairment state...

While this was quite fitting for the names and abilities of these two paths, it wasn't good news for Xia Er. It meant that the side effect of the pocket watch "Echo of Time," "Temporal Disturbance," could suddenly blind her during combat.

Just as Xia Er was about to get up, she found that her right hand was unresponsive.

She slightly adjusted her perspective and looked at the bed.

Aivina was still curled up, hugging her left arm to her chest, lying sideways, with her right leg draped over Xia Er's abdomen.

To her right, Adele was also lying on her side, resting her head on her arm. Her pillow had mysteriously vanished, and perhaps dreaming of something delicious, a glistening droplet of saliva hung at the corner of her mouth, connecting to Xia Er's right arm.

The blanket that had originally covered the three of them was now nowhere to be found; it seemed Aivina had instinctively hugged herself in this position because she was cold.

Xia Er: "......"

She gently shifted her shoulder and forcefully pulled her right hand from under Adele's head.

Feeling the tingling sensation of blood returning, Xia Er let out a soft sigh.

If she had slept any longer, that hand might have needed amputation.

Opening the system, she checked the time: it was six in the morning. It seemed she had slept for quite a while.

**Countdown - 09:11:05**

There were still nine hours left, enough time to accomplish everything she wanted to do and gather the information she needed.

Xia Er adjusted her perspective back to the scene in front of her. Although she could only see about 15 meters ahead, like someone with myopia, this vision felt more in line with her usual habits.

She cautiously tried to pull her left hand from Aivina's embrace. Perhaps due to Aivina's silky nightgown, Xia Er managed to extract her hand smoothly.

However, the movement seemed to wake Aivina. She opened her eyes, looking dazed as she stared at Xia Er. After several seconds, she gradually came to her senses, returning to her usual expressionless demeanor.

"Good morning," Xia Er said softly.

"Morning," Aivina replied, then asked, "How are your eyes? Strange... you don't seem to have fully recovered..."

"Much better now... I have some things to take care of today," Xia Er responded with a smile, trying to ease any worries.

"Okay." Aivina didn't press for details. If Xia Er wanted her to know, she would share; Aivina respected her privacy.

Of course, all of this depended on Xia Er not encountering any danger.

Feeling some sensation returning to her right hand, Xia Er prepared to push herself up from the bed, but her vision suddenly tilted, causing her to instinctively halt her movements.

She shifted her perspective forward and saw Tara, wrapped in a small blanket, curled up on the carpet beneath the bed—now she understood where the missing blanket had gone.

If she hadn't had her enhanced vision and had simply gotten out of bed, Xia Er might have accidentally stepped on Tara's face.

Carefully stepping around the sleeping Tara, Xia Er left the bedroom and headed toward the bathroom.

Adele's main bedroom didn't have an attached bathroom; it was located elsewhere, but that was still quite nice, considering most residences still used communal washrooms and bathrooms.

After washing up, Xia Er exited the bathroom.

At that moment, Aivina, dressed in her nightgown, had been leaning against the bathroom wall for quite some time. Upon seeing Xia Er come out, she handed her some clothes.

"I had the maid bring these last night; they were delivered today," Aivina said, stuffing the clothes into Xia Er's arms.

Xia Er instinctively reached out to take the clothes, but the loose pants slipped right down.

Aivina: "......"

Xia Er: "......"

Fortunately, Adele's clothes were long enough to cover her private parts.

"Ahem..." Aivina stifled a laugh, maintaining her expressionless demeanor as she slowly turned away, saying, "I didn't see anything."

"Aivina." Xia Er wasn't embarrassed; since it was Aivina who had witnessed this, it didn't matter. She looked at Aivina's back and asked, "Do you have some time later?"

"I do, what's up?" Aivina slightly turned, facing Xia Er.

"I'm planning to drink the 'Listener' potion and would like you to help me with it," Xia Er said.

"'Listener'?" Aivina frowned, looking directly into Xia Er's eyes. "Why the 'Listener'? Are you serious?"

Aivina knew all too well how difficult this path was, having once recklessly consumed the potion herself.

Not knowing what lay ahead was one thing, but there were no similar organizations or Transcendents to refer to, no insights or experiences to guide her—everything had to be figured out on her own...

Moreover, the lower tiers of this path were not suited for normal combat, especially in encounters. Before Tier 3, one would have to rely on potions to alter others' subconscious or memories.

It was precisely because she understood that this path was unsuitable for combat that Aivina wanted to dissuade Xia Er from pursuing it.
