“Ahhhhhhh!!!!”
Qiangyin slammed his forehead against the ground in a frenzy, roaring as if he could fight against the chaos and pain brought on by the memories flooding his mind.
A red vortex... pure white armor... countless deaths...
That red-haired girl, laughing coldly at him across different timelines...
It’s you... it’s really you!!!
The ordinary person lying in bed!!! How can it be you!!!
An ordinary person played me!!! Played me, Qiangyin!!!
“I'm going to kill you!!! I’m going to kill you!!!”
One of Qiangyin's eyes had completely withered away. He lifted his leg, trying to stand, but the moment he did, his legs shattered like decayed wood, and he collapsed to the ground, his body rapidly dissipating.
“I’ll kill you... I’ll kill you!!!”
Blood sprayed from Qiangyin's mouth as he suddenly lifted his head, his bloodshot eyes making him look like a creature possessed.
“Charles! I promise you! I will ensure your family inherits glory for generations! Go!!! Kill Xia’er!!! Kill... cough cough cough...”
“I beg you, kill Xia’er... kill that... girl...”
“Kill...”
Qiangyin's voice faded into nothingness.
His half-dissolved body lay face down on the ground, vanishing at an alarming speed.
Charles stared in shock at this scene, completely stunned, unable to regain his composure.
Just a second ago, he was facing a desperate choice between life and death.
But in the next moment... Qiangyin... is dead?
The Xia’er he mentioned... could it be...
In an instant, Charles thought of the girl’s name, the red-haired girl who had come to find him, calling herself Aivina’s “lover.”
What does this have to do with her?
Charles’s mind was a whirlwind of confusion, and even now, he hadn’t lowered his guard.
It wasn’t until he heard his daughter’s soft cough behind him that he snapped back to reality. He quickly turned around, pulling a vial of potion from his waist and slowly pouring it into Aivina’s mouth.
He knelt beside Aivina, letting the vial drop from his hand, wanting to pick her up and leave, but hesitating, glancing back at the “Qiangyin” who was left with only one eye, unsure of what to do.
It was only after that eye completely vanished that a strange wave caught Charles’s attention.
It was...
A silver chain, biting its own tail to form an “∞” symbol, quietly suspended in mid-air.
The silver serpent’s head slowly released its grip, moving like a real snake, swiftly darting up the stairs and disappearing from sight.
“‘Uniqueness’...”
Though it wasn’t moving fast, Charles could easily catch up to the snake chain, but he didn’t. Instead, he dashed into an undamaged hotel room, grabbed a blanket, and gently wrapped Aivina in it to protect her from further harm before carrying her toward the direction of the Redemption Society.
...
“Uh...”
Xia’er suddenly opened her eyes. As the PTSD-inducing silver flash faded, the world before her seemed to be covered in a layer of white snowflakes.
Her body still felt sluggish, but her mind was clear.
She stood up and saw a familiar figure in front of her.
“Lady Xia’er, you’re awake!” Tara exclaimed, looking at her with joy. “We have just a few seconds left until the appointed time; I must take you away.”
“What... happened?”
A long string of system panels flashed before Xia’er, displaying her simulation settlement page, but she had no mood to go through any of it.
“Aivina... where is she?”
Xia’er placed her hand on Tara’s shoulder, leaning on her for support as she scanned the surroundings.
But she didn’t see Aivina anywhere.
“Lady Aivina went to distract Qiangyin... From the sounds below, it seems Qiangyin has been held up. We’ll soon reach the ten-minute mark, Lady Xia’er,” Tara reported.
This is bad...
Aivina...
How could she dare to confront Qiangyin alone...
I don’t even know if she succeeded...
“Take me... down...”
Xia’er walked toward the door, her steps unsteady. Tara, without any hesitation, supported her as they headed downstairs.
But just as they crossed the corridor and were about to descend the stairs, the snowflakes in front of Xia’er became increasingly chaotic, making it nearly impossible for her to see anything. She could only rely on the all-terrain map formed by her “Precognitive Vision” to barely discern her surroundings.
At that moment, a completely pixelated silver object appeared on the map, rapidly approaching her.
Before she could react and step back, the object had crossed the fifteen-meter prediction range and was right in front of her.
It was a silver snake chain... so clear against the backdrop of the snowflakes.
The silver chain coiled around Xia’er, seemingly searching for something, but ultimately it stopped right in front of her, as if it could see through her eye and into the silver dial in her right eye.
Sss—
The snake chain slithered directly into Xia’er’s right eye.
“Lady Xia’er!”
With Tara’s scream, Xia’er completely lost control of her body, and darkness enveloped her vision.
Conscious yet fainting into oblivion.

PS1: Many people didn’t understand the logic behind Qiangyin’s death. Quantum computing expert @2BB made a diagram to help everyone understand. After looking at it, you’ll definitely get it better (wink).

I really can’t write 10,000 words anymore; I’m a bit tired.
I’ll still try to add more in the coming days because I might take a leave to send my computer back home and ride back home, which will take some time.
Good night~

PS3: A friend’s book recommendation, Orange Literature! “The Witch of the Mysterious Night.”
Chapter 261: The “Kiss of Time Erosion” Anchoring Time and Space (6084 words)
“Miss, do you need me to help you change?”
“No need.”
“Alright... breakfast is ready...”
“I know.”
“Um... then I’ll step out for now. If you need anything, just call for me...”
“No need, go do something else.”
In the Russell Marquisate, in Aivina’s room.
A maid retreated to the door and left after opening it.
Once the maid was gone, Aivina got up, took off her nightgown, and changed into a simple dark brown dress. She walked to the window and looked out at the garden below, watching the gardener at work, her mood somewhat complicated.
It’s July 20th... it’s been three days... why is there still no news from Xia’er...
Her father repeatedly assured her that Qiangyin hadn’t gone up to harm Xia’er, but when it came to what exactly happened with Qiangyin, Charles avoided the topic, clearly hiding something.
However, Charles had indeed sent people to help Aivina search for Xia’er, but after three days of searching, Xia’er seemed to have vanished without a trace.
The last person to leave with Xia’er was Tara... Logically, as a member of the same organization, Tara wouldn’t betray Xia’er, and Xia’er would surely come looking for her after resolving her issues.
Could something have happened again?
Aivina’s eyes showed a hint of worry. She took a deep breath, put on her glasses, and left the room, heading toward the dining room.
As she pushed open the dining room door, Charles was sitting at the head of the table, a plate of untouched breakfast in front of him. When Aivina entered, he pretended to start eating, as if he had been waiting for her.
