Chapter 133

Why is it that when we talk, there's still a hint of shyness, even a cautious demeanor?

The two of them walked into the room where the formation plate was being made. Bai Feng didn’t rush to assign tasks; instead, he moved two chairs over.

“Su Shijie, you sit first.” He placed the two chairs side by side and took out a semi-transparent ‘stone slab’ to set in front of them. “Next, I’m going to teach you the additional components of the ‘Qian Zhen’.”

“Eh? Wasn’t what I learned about ‘Qian Zhen’ already complete?”

Su Lanqian was a bit surprised, but then she suddenly remembered something—there was a part of the portable formation that she simply couldn’t replicate.

So it wasn’t just her skills that were lacking; she was missing a piece of the puzzle?

“However, this part is quite difficult, so Su Shijie, don’t be discouraged if you fail the first time. You can still set up the ‘Qian Zhen’ without it.” Bai Feng turned to look at Su Lanqian, giving her a heads-up. “Are you ready?”

Hearing Bai Feng say this, Su Lanqian immediately focused all her attention. Even though Bai Feng was sitting right next to her, she didn’t dare to let her mind wander for a second. “I’m ready!”

“This is a very special formation pattern…”

Bai Feng slowly began to etch the celestial patterns onto the stone slab he had prepared.

Since he was only recording a small part and had already thoroughly understood the celestial patterns, he was able to inscribe them onto the stone slab made of spirit stone.

He had considered for a long time before deciding to teach Su Lanqian a portion of the celestial patterns. First, he believed that with her talent, she could learn it. Secondly, he really needed an assistant who could help him.

Most importantly, Su Lanqian trusted him enough; after all, she was willing to place a part of his consciousness deep within her sea of consciousness, practically entrusting her life to him.

Thus, he planned to teach her the celestial patterns, but he couldn’t guarantee that she would truly learn it. So, he intentionally downplayed the importance of this part to prevent her from falling back into a state of self-doubt after he had finally managed to comfort her.

“Hmm…”

Su Lanqian couldn’t help but rub her forehead, her heart filled with confusion.

What exactly is this? I can barely keep my eyes open after just a few seconds of looking at it.

Is this really something I can learn?

The little bit of confidence she had managed to build up was once again teetering on the edge.

Just as she was about to give up, she suddenly recalled what Bai Feng had said to her before:

‘You are a genius far beyond other formation masters. I don’t know how others see you, but at least in my eyes, you are absolutely one of a kind.’

‘Su Shijie, don’t deny yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself, then you should at least believe in me.’

She lowered her head, her fingers tightening around her skirt: ‘I should believe in Bai Feng…’

Finally, she relaxed her fingers, opened her spiritual eyes, and looked once more at the formation patterns on the stone slab.

She absolutely had to learn this pattern, not just to prove herself, but to show that Bai Feng hadn’t misjudged her.

Since Bai Feng believed in her so much, she had to respond to his expectations!

“Hey, you don’t have to push yourself so hard. If you’re tired, just take a break and continue later.”

Bai Feng couldn’t help but remind her. As someone who had been through this, he knew just how difficult it was to master celestial patterns. He genuinely worried that Su Lanqian’s determination might lead to problems.

After all, he just wanted to find a partner, not a disposable tool!

But just then, Su Lanqian suddenly extended her right index finger and began to slowly and forcefully trace the pattern beside the stone slab.

However, halfway through, she could no longer hold on, her body going limp as she fell to the side.

Bai Feng quickly reached out to catch her, his eyes still fixed on the stone slab.

He noticed that the first half of the two celestial patterns on the slab was almost identical, clearly indicating that Su Lanqian had already grasped that part.

Celestial patterns weren’t just doodles that could be drawn by following a picture; if one didn’t master the celestial patterns, they would never be able to remember or draw them.

“Bai Feng, did I succeed…?”

Su Lanqian struggled to open her eyes. At that moment, her mind still felt painful and chaotic, as if it had been stuffed with a mountain of knowledge in a short time.

“Yeah, you succeeded.” Bai Feng pulled his gaze away from the stone slab and looked at the tense-faced Su Lanqian, his tone softening a bit. “You really are a genius beyond compare.”

A smile appeared on Su Lanqian’s face: “That’s great! I didn’t let you down…”

Before she could finish, she closed her eyes, leaning against Bai Feng’s chest as she fell into a steady rhythm of breathing.

Bai Feng quickly checked on her and then shook his head helplessly. “Youth is wonderful; they can just fall asleep anywhere.”

Su Lanqian was fine; she had simply exhausted herself and fallen asleep.

He picked her up and carried her to the bed in the adjacent room.

From this day on, Su Lanqian was no longer an ordinary partner; she couldn’t sleep on the sofa anymore. Her treatment had to be upgraded!

After covering her with a blanket, Bai Feng returned to the room where he was making the formation plate, working slowly by himself.

Sigh, in the end, it looks like I’m still working alone.

“Guhahaha… I did it… Um, Bai Feng, don’t do that! I’m not ready yet…”

Su Lanqian suddenly opened her dazed eyes, looking around the dimly lit bedroom. Her foggy brain took a moment to register: “Huh?”

‘Where’s Bai Feng? Didn’t I go looking for him? Am I dreaming?’

She glanced out the window at the pitch-black sky, then looked around at the unfamiliar layout of the room. Her mind finally began to clear a bit.

This isn’t my bedroom!

She looked down at the blanket covering her, the familiar scent making her swallow hard.

‘No, no, what are you thinking?’

She quickly stopped her dangerous thoughts.

“Right, I came here to help! How did I end up sleeping a whole day in Bai Feng’s house? No, I can’t just lie here anymore.”

Though reluctant, Su Lanqian hurriedly climbed out of bed and pushed open the bedroom door.

As soon as she opened the door, she saw Bai Yumo coming out of the kitchen with a plate of food.

Bai Yumo froze for a moment, glancing at Su Lanqian and then at the bedroom behind her.

She set down the dishes in her hands, and a dangerous aura gradually appeared on her otherwise expressionless face. “Why did you come out of Bai Feng’s bedroom?”

“I… I don’t know…”

Su Lanqian took a couple of fearful steps back, feeling as if she were facing not Bai Feng’s sister, but a waking giant beast.

“Don’t know?”

Bai Yumo muttered under her breath, her hands clenching into fists. This girl was really annoying!

“What are you two arguing about?”

At that moment, Bai Feng opened the door and stepped out. He first glanced at Bai Yumo, who looked calm, then at Su Lanqian, who appeared a bit frightened, and explained, “Su Shijie came to help. I saw she was too tired, so I let her rest in my bedroom for a bit.”

“Brother, isn’t it inappropriate to let her rest in your bedroom?”

Bai Yumo said with some dissatisfaction. She had never even slept in Bai Feng’s bedroom!

“True, I should have considered that.” Bai Feng nodded, not arguing. “I’ll set up a dedicated resting area later.”

Then he turned to Su Lanqian. “By the way, Su Shijie, would you like to join us for a meal?”

“N-no, it’s fine!” Su Lanqian quickly shook her head. Bai Yumo was too dangerous; she didn’t dare stay for dinner. “Um, I’ll head back now. I’ll come help again tomorrow!”

“Okay, take care, Su Shijie.”

Bai Feng nodded, not insisting further.

After Su Lanqian left, he turned to Bai Yumo and said, “Alright, let’s eat.”

“Mm…”

Bai Yumo lowered her head, her eyes occasionally glancing toward Bai Feng’s bedroom, lost in thought.

A few minutes later, while Bai Feng was eating at the table, he saw Bai Yumo walk out of the kitchen and head straight for his bedroom.

Then he watched as she ran out of his room, clutching his sheets and blankets.

“Brother, I remember your sheets haven’t been changed in a long time. I’ll go wash them for you.”

With that, she disappeared in a flash.

Watching this scene, Bai Feng slowly chewed the meat in his mouth—looks like she really took a wrong turn, huh?
