Ever since returning from Daniel Cooper's birthday party, things hadn’t been going smoothly for Eric Bennett.
Probably because his plans had fallen through, Daniel Cooper found Eric Bennett more and more displeasing, and his behavior became increasingly outrageous.
Just like now, Eric Bennett reached out to touch his bedding, and sure enough, it was damp and wet.
Matthew Turner walked in, saw him standing motionless by the bed, came over to take a look, and immediately noticed the dark wet patch on the blue bedsheet. He paused and asked, “How did it get wet?”
Eric Bennett didn’t say anything.
But Matthew Turner had his suspicions. He turned and questioned Daniel Cooper, who was playing games on the bed, “Daniel Cooper, was this your doing?”
Daniel Cooper flatly denied it, “Which eye of yours saw me do it? Don’t go around accusing people without any evidence.”
Matthew Turner was a bit angry, “Other than you, who else in this dorm would target Eric Bennett?”
Daniel Cooper said, “Why don’t you blame Zhao Zhao, that sissy? Why are you so sure it’s me?”
Matthew Turner wanted to say more, but Eric Bennett reached out to stop him and shook his head.
Matthew Turner blushed slightly and said, “Let’s change dorms. I’ll go talk to the dorm supervisor.”
Daniel Cooper looked a bit smug, “I’m not moving. I just love living in this dorm.”
He felt extremely pleased to be able to disgust Eric Bennett.
Looking at his smug face, Matthew Turner couldn’t help but grit his teeth, gave Eric Bennett a reassuring glance, and said in a low voice, “I’ll go talk to the dorm supervisor.”
With that, he walked out the door.
Daniel Cooper got off the bed and said lazily, “I’ll go talk to the dorm supervisor too. I’m not changing dorms.”
After speaking, he followed Matthew Turner out.
A boy from the neighboring dorm poked his head in and cautiously said to Eric Bennett, “Brother Xie, I have something to tell you.”
The boy was one of the followers who had tried to escort Eric Bennett back to school a few days ago. His name was Peter Grant.
Eric Bennett only paused for a moment before following Peter Grant out.
Peter Grant found a secluded stairwell, waved Eric Bennett over, then stuck his head out to check the surroundings. After making sure no one was coming, he lowered his voice and said mysteriously to Eric Bennett, “Brother Xie, honestly, I’ve long been fed up with Daniel Cooper, so don’t worry, I’m on your side!”
Eric Bennett spoke calmly, “What do you want to tell me?”
Peter Grant said, “Here’s the thing, Brother Fu has come up with a new trick to deal with you.”
As he spoke, he took out his phone and handed it to Eric Bennett.
Eric Bennett reached out to take it, his gaze falling on the phone, which was displaying a group chat interface.
Eric Bennett's eyes narrowed, and his grip on the phone tightened slightly.
He slowly scrolled up, carefully reading through all their chat messages.
In the group, someone said: “Brother Fu hates Eric Bennett so much, why not have him switch dorms? Your uncle works at the school, it shouldn’t be hard, right?”
Daniel Cooper replied: “You don’t know anything. I want to disgust him right in front of him.”
“Dude’s a top student, has high standards, probably doesn’t even notice you.”
Daniel Cooper sent a string of “……”
Someone else chimed in: “I see that Matthew Turner always helps Eric Bennett out. Eric Bennett isn’t close to anyone except Matthew Turner. Maybe there’s something fishy going on.”
Daniel Cooper asked: “What’s fishy?”
“You know, a py deal.”
“What do you mean? Spell it out for me.”
“You know, homosexuality.”
This word clearly shocked Daniel Cooper's worldview. “What the hell!”
That person said: “Brother Fu, you don’t know? The world’s a mess now. Some men just like men, like messing with guys. Maybe those two are in that kind of relationship.”
Daniel Cooper sent a vomiting emoji, “Disgusting! People actually do that?”
That person said: “Of course! At my old school, there was a gay guy who wrote a love letter to another boy. Someone posted it on the bulletin board, it blew up, his reputation was ruined, and he dropped out.”
“If Brother Fu really hates him, wouldn’t making him drop out be easy?”
Daniel Cooper was clearly tempted, “But that Matthew Turner guy is pretty rich, not easy to mess with.”
“What’s so hard about it? The law doesn’t punish the masses. Take a few photos of them being close, stir things up on the forum, leak some dirt, and his reputation will be ruined.”
Daniel Cooper said: “Great idea! When the time comes, you all help me stir things up in the threads, but don’t make up stuff that’s too fake. That poor guy doesn’t have a phone, so he won’t find out. Once it blows up, even if he wants to explain, no one will believe him.”
……
Eric Bennett returned the phone to Peter Grant, his chest rising and falling slightly.
Peter Grant glanced at his expression and said softly, “I really can’t stand his sneaky tricks. You’re such a good student, and you never mess with him, so I don’t get why he keeps targeting you.”
Eric Bennett said calmly, “Thank you for telling me, but I need to clarify something—I don’t know that person.”
Peter Grant chuckled, “I’m not being a spy because of the Lamborghini. I just can’t stand Daniel Cooper using such disgusting tricks. I may not be good at studying, but I really admire top students like you.”
