Chapter 3 Part 3: Proposed

Vivian was in a dilemma. Running away would be unheroic, but standing there made her feel like a robber. So, in a moment of inspiration, Vivian lifted her clothes and sat down.

In the game "Dreaming of Jianghu," sitting down could mean resting, meditating to cultivate inner strength, or, as Vivian was doing now—setting up a stall to sell goods.

When Vivian put up the stall sign "Medicines for Sale at a Discount," black lines appeared above the heads of the surrounding players. Vivian quickly typed to advertise: "Come and see, come and see, freshly made medicines by a max-level pharmacist, now on sale at 20% off!"

As soon as she said this, the players who were waiting to watch the fun suddenly became excited.

No kidding, the medicines made by a max-level pharmacist were not available in the system store; they could only be occasionally obtained by defeating monsters. They were valuable and rare. Although there were several max-level pharmacists in the server, they usually served their own guilds and rarely sold their medicines. Now, there were cheap max-level medicines for sale! The players at Bird Bridge (Vermilion Bird Bridge) were thrilled and immediately swarmed over, quickly engulfing the small figure of the red-clad heroine.

The bridal sedan came and went quickly.

The usually slow-moving bridal sedan suddenly sped up when passing Bird Bridge and disappeared at the bridgehead in an instant.

Vivian's medicines were also quickly sold out. With nothing left to see, the players dispersed, and the usually quiet Bird Bridge, which only became lively during player weddings, returned to its usual calm.

Vivian packed up her stall and stood up, ready to leave, when she suddenly heard someone calling her from under the bridge.

"Reed Vivian (Reed Vivian)."

Vivian looked towards the player.

By the riverbank, a willow tree stood slanted, and the person was standing under it. A gentle breeze blew, lightly brushing the willow branches. The man under the tree was dressed in spotless white, carrying a guqin, with an air of elegance and detachment.

Vivian was mesmerized.

It wasn't because the man in white was handsome, though he indeed was. But the image of a white-clad musician was not uncommon in the game, and she had become numb to it.

It was because of the man's name.

Smiling Naihe (Ethan Nai).

The top player in the server, Smiling Naihe.

In this game, being called the top player meant more than just having a high level. One had to have strong equipment, be fierce in PK (player killing), have precise operations, and most importantly, have a lot of money.

So when Reed Vivian first saw Smiling Naihe, she couldn't help but have hearts in one eye and gold coins in the other.

A legend!

An idol!

A wealthy person!

Vivian ran down the bridge and sent a smiley face: "Brother Naihe (Nai), I've heard so much about you. Did you call me?"

Smiling Naihe responded with a simple "Hmm," and then the system notified Vivian: Smiling Naihe has added you as a friend.

Vivian quickly accepted and added Smiling Naihe in return. Adding Smiling Naihe wasn't easy; top players usually kept their friend requests closed. Vivian sometimes closed hers too when she received too many requests.

A moment later, Smiling Naihe sent a message: "What do you think of this wedding?"

Vivian was puzzled. Was the legend here to gossip too? She diplomatically replied, "It's grand."

Smiling Naihe: "Would you like an even grander wedding?"

Vivian was stunned.

Smiling Naihe: "Marry me."

Vivian thought, luckily she wasn't drinking water, or the monitor would have been sprayed again. She nervously moved her teacup away and looked at the screen.

On the screen, Smiling Naihe's character still stood quietly under the willow tree, exuding an air of elegance and freedom. Vivian stared for a while and sent a message: "Legend... did you get hacked? = ="

Smiling Naihe didn't seem to appreciate Vivian's humor and sent a rare "silent" emoji: "Have you seen the latest news on the official website about the Couples PK Tournament?"

Vivian: "Wait, let me check."

Vivian opened the official website and immediately saw the words "Couples PK Tournament" at the top. After a quick browse, she got the gist. The Couples PK Tournament, as the name suggests, was a PK tournament for couples. Registered player couples would first PK in their server, and the top three would receive certain rewards. Then, the first place from each server would PK across all servers, with the top three receiving super rewards, and the first place's reward was so rich that Vivian was drooling.

Vivian: "You want to marry me just for this PK tournament?"

Smiling Naihe: "Yes."

Vivian: "Why me?"

Smiling Naihe didn't waste words: "You're the only female player in the top ten of the PK rankings."

Vivian was a bit tempted. This Naihe gentleman was very strong, ranked first in PK, first in wealth, with god-level weapons and pets. If she teamed up with him, they had at least a 50% chance of being first in the server. But her first marriage was for a quest, and now her second marriage would be for PK?

Vivian couldn't help but have black lines.

But then again, if not for a quest or PK, why would she marry a stranger? And the rewards were so tempting...

Vivian gritted her teeth: "Let's do it!"

Having made up her mind, Vivian was straightforward, "Let's team up and go to the Matchmaker."

"Wait."

"What?" Did she agree too quickly and scare Naihe away? - -

But clearly, that wasn't the case. Smiling Naihe said, "I need to prepare. Three days later, at eight."

Vivian was taken aback and quickly typed: "Prepare what?"

"The wedding."

Vivian: "Just a simple registration is fine. We're only marrying for the competition, no need for anything grand, right?"

Smiling Naihe: "No, my wedding can't be casual."
