Chapter 3

Ethan Foster: "No, Chris, I was just saying it without thinking. I've had such bad luck today, please don't hold it against me."

Chris Brooks snapped back to reality and suddenly pulled over a chair to sit next to Ethan Foster: "Ethan, are you really feeling that bad right now?"

Ethan Foster was taken aback: "W-what?"

Chris Brooks thought for a moment: "If I gave you two choices, one is getting scammed by a guy in an online relationship, the other is having your account permanently banned because of a bug, which would you choose?"

"The second one!" Ethan Foster looked completely baffled, "Why are you asking this?"

Getting scammed in an online relationship, is it really that painful? Could it be worse than losing your account?

Chris Brooks hugged the back of the chair, deep in thought.

Brian Carter sensed something was off: "Chris, what are you up to?"

Suddenly, the phone on the table rang. Ethan Foster picked it up and glanced at it, almost choking on his breath, then raised his hand to pinch the bridge of his nose.

The other two quickly rushed over to support him. Chris Brooks took his phone to have a look.

[Little Baby: Hubby, I've been thinking all afternoon, and I still feel really sad. I really like you, but unfortunately our fate ends here. [crying bunny]]

[Little Baby: I'll send you a real photo of myself. I hope you'll always remember that this silly boy is gently watching over you from somewhere on Earth.]

[Little Baby: [photo]]

In the photo, a middle-aged man looked a bit chubby, with a patch of white hair at his crown, tears in his eyes, gazing affectionately at the camera.

Chris Brooks: "..."

Brian Carter: "Damn! This guy is really heartless! This is a killer move! Ethan, hang in there!"

This photo attack nearly took half of Ethan Foster's life.

He sat up in shock from his "deathbed": "I'm deleting him from my friends! I'm abandoning this QQ! This QQ is tainted!"

Chris Brooks was lost in thought, but quickly reached out to stop him: "Wait, Ethan, I have something to say to him."

Ethan Foster was touched: "What is it, Chris, are you going to roast him for me?"

"Why bother cursing him? It's a waste of time on someone like that." Chris Brooks took the phone and started typing away.

Brian Carter leaned over to look: "Then what are you doing with Ethan's phone?"

[Little Baby: Haohao baby, why aren't you replying to me...]

[LWH: You there?]

[Little Baby: OvO baby! I'm here!]

[LWH: Send me the voice changer link.]

Brian Carter: "..."

Brian Carter: "?"

Chapter 2

Of course, Chris Brooks didn't get the voice changer link. The other party just replied, "At least we loved once, and you humiliate me like this?" and then blocked Ethan Foster's QQ.

Ethan Foster was stunned for a few seconds after finding out, then broke down: "What the hell? He blocked me? He has the nerve to block me first?! I'm going to dox him! I'm going to fight him!"

"Doxing is illegal, it's not worth it, Ethan." Brian Carter said, rubbing his temples. "Alright, it's all deleted, just let it go. Everyone faces setbacks in life, right?"

Ethan Foster: "This is a setback?"

"It's a tribulation. Once you get through this, your life will be smooth sailing." Chris Brooks chimed in, "Ethan, which server is your game account on?"

"Tian Ci Liang Yuan." Ethan Foster reported the server name, grabbed a tissue and blew his nose. "Why?"

Chris Brooks shook his head: "Nothing."

He opened his half-packed suitcase and put all the miscellaneous items from the table into it.

Ethan Foster moved his chair and sat next to him: "Chris, are you moving out today? I'm already this miserable, and you're not even staying a few more days with me?"

The school had strict rules, treating a bunch of college students like high schoolers. There was a curfew and power cut every night. If it weren't for the fact that freshmen weren't allowed to live off campus, Chris Brooks would have moved out long ago.

So as soon as he became a sophomore, he quickly rented an apartment near the school.

"No, I'm not staying. I'm afraid you'll be sick of seeing guys for the next few days."

When Chris Brooks finished packing, Brian Carter had just finished eating a self-heating hotpot. He stood up and said, "Chris, I'll help you move."

Chris Brooks locked his suitcase: "No need, I called a little tricycle, it's waiting downstairs."

Brian Carter insisted: "Then I'll help you carry it downstairs."

Since the semester had just started, he planned to change to new bedding and such after moving, so Chris Brooks didn't have much luggage—he could easily carry it himself.

In the hallway, Brian Carter was holding Chris Brooks's computer and asked tentatively: "Chris, are you alright?"

Chris Brooks raised an eyebrow: "Why wouldn't I be?"

Brian Carter and Chris Brooks were very close; they'd been classmates since middle school, so Brian Carter knew his situation pretty well.
