Chapter 17

"…I wasn't worried about you. As long as everything went smoothly, that's good. Bye."

"Mm, mm, mm, bye-bye!"

After hanging up, she giggled dreamily for a while, quickly saved the number, and set the remark as "My Baby." Then she sent a friend request to Henry Clark on WeChat, with a verification message.

The request was accepted quickly. The profile picture was blank, and the ID was just the character "希." Emily Bennett first sent a cute smiling emoji, then sent over the address of the crew's hotel. Henry Clark replied with an "OK."

Sticking to her principle of not disturbing or pestering, she didn't send any more messages. After finishing all this, she turned around with a satisfied look, only to find Anna Foster and Edward Grant looking at her with particularly complicated expressions.

Emily Bennett touched her face. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Edward Grant said with deep disappointment, "Little Olivia! I'm so disappointed in you! How could you be so fawning!"

Anna Foster didn't say anything, but his expression said it all.

Emily Bennett replied righteously, "That's not fawning, it's the joy of facing someone you love."

Edward Grant glared at her. "Nonsense! You just called out Henry Clark, since when did Henry Clark become someone you love?"

Emily Bennett kept a straight face. "You misheard."

Edward Grant was so angry his fingertips trembled, pointing at her phone. "Emily Bennett, do you think I'm deaf and blind? You think I didn't see who your phone wallpaper is?!" He looked at her with exasperation. "As a top celebrity, you're actually fangirling, and in such a fawning way. Aren't you ashamed? Does this live up to your status as a top star?"

Emily Bennett stuffed her phone into her pocket. "None of your business. We're having hotpot tonight! Let's go!"

Edward Grant was so angry he grabbed Anna Foster. "Look at her! Just look at her!"

Anna Foster shot him a sideways glance. "Little Olivia's personal business, what's it to you?" With that, he walked off with a cold expression.

Edward Grant felt like he was about to cry from anger.

Two days later, Emily Bennett received concert tickets sent by Henry Clark. So far, only two stops of the tour had tickets on sale, and the two tickets in the envelope were both VIP seats in the inner section. The first show was on the 13th of next month, which, by her calculation, was right around the time she'd wrap up filming.

Emily Bennett was so excited hugging the tickets that she couldn't sleep all night. The next morning, with two dark circles under her eyes, she got up and received a call from William Carter.

"Miss Bennett, all the relevant materials are ready. We can file the lawsuit at any time."

Chapter 9

Emily Bennett held the phone, lost in thought for a few seconds.

The door was knocked on by Edward Grant, calling her to breakfast. Emily Bennett snapped out of her thoughts and replied, "I'll wait until filming wraps up. I can't let it affect the crew's shooting schedule."

William Carter agreed, paused, and then said, "Emily Bennett, I have a few personal words I'd like to say to you."

"Go ahead."

"No matter how we fight this battle, in the end, we can't guarantee the photos won't leak. If possible—I'm just saying if—I suggest you try to get the original photos before filing the lawsuit."

Emily Bennett was amused by her straightforward brother. "William Carter, that's not something a lawyer should say."

Of course, William Carter knew that too. After a brief silence, he said awkwardly, "Just a personal suggestion."

Despite that, Emily Bennett was still quite touched. "I know. Don't worry."

She had actually considered William Carter's suggestion. If she could get the originals and destroy them, Gao Meiling would lose her leverage, which would be a victory without a fight. But that was too difficult to pull off. She couldn't exactly hack into Gao Meiling's phone, computer, or safe. Besides, she didn't even know where the originals were hidden.

With all this on her mind, she couldn't help but seem a bit down. During breakfast, Edward Grant glanced at her several times and sighed, "What's with everyone today? Both you and Anna Foster are like this."

Emily Bennett took a bite of her bun. "What happened to Anna Foster?"

"No idea who he offended, but this morning a bunch of gossip accounts started spreading rumors that he cheated in college. His agency issued a statement, but it didn't help. If you search Anna Foster, it's all negative stuff. There's no way to report it all."

"As long as the rumor is refuted, those who believe in him always will. As for those rumor-mongering Weibo posts, just have his team write a program to auto-report them, problem solved."

Edward Grant gave her a look like she was joking. "You think a program can just be written like that? Auto-reporting would basically mean hacking Weibo's firewall and running programs, altering data, you know?"

Emily Bennett was stunned for a moment. "I thought it was pretty simple."

"If someone could really write an auto-reporting program, they could just hack into Weibo's main system and take down Sina entirely. That level—top hacker in the country."

After saying that, he noticed Emily Bennett across from him suddenly start to tremble.

Edward Grant asked in confusion, "Why are you shaking?"

Emily Bennett suddenly stood up, abandoning her breakfast. "I'm going to make a call. You eat slowly, and remember to bring two buns to the set for Anna Foster."

She ran all the way back to her hotel room, opened her laptop, and messaged Tommy: Tom, what are you up to?

Tommy replied quickly as always: In class, what's up, President? Got a mission?

Little Olivia wants to get stronger: President wants to ask you something, answer honestly.

Tommy: Sure, absolutely honest.

Little Olivia wants to get stronger: Can you hack into someone else's computer or phone and remotely delete files?
