Chapter 14

Brian Walker sighed. “Everyone’s just next door—we see each other all the time. Here’s the deal: you leave all the prey behind, and I’ll let you go.”

She spoke with such natural authority that Edward Harris Sr. couldn’t help but laugh in disbelief. “Brian Walker, you think just the two of you can handle all of us?”

Brian Walker rotated her wrist and looked up. “What else?”

Edward Harris Sr. was about to signal his lackeys when, out of nowhere, a fist swung at his face. He dodged instinctively, but before he could feel relieved, another fist landed squarely on his head, leaving him dazed.

“Mr. Harris!” The lackeys shouted in panic.

Seizing the moment, Brian Walker knocked Edward Harris Sr. to the ground, giving him no time to react. “Mr. Harris? How about I beat you into a pig instead?”

After a series of heavy blows, Edward Harris Sr. was nearly unconscious. Just before passing out, he thought: Damn, this Brian Walker is a monster. What kind of freakish strength is this? One punch and I’m done for.

“Mr. Harris!!!”

Seeing Edward Harris Sr. pass out so easily, the lackeys turned pale with fright.

Brian Walker grew more and more annoyed by their wailing, shooting them a cold glare.

“……”

It was as if an invisible hand had gripped their throats; the lackeys instantly fell silent. After a while, one of the smarter ones glanced at Brian Walker and tentatively changed his address: “Pig—Pig bro?”

That immediately reminded the others, and soon the empty clearing echoed with fresh cries: “Pig bro—”

Brian Walker: “……”

“Which of these did you steal?” Brian Walker glanced at their prey and asked.

The lackeys all handed their prey to Brian Walker in unison, then picked up Edward Harris Sr. and ran, not even bothering to take Edward Harris Sr.’s own prey.

“Help me contact the people who had their prey stolen. I’m heading off.” Brian Walker hefted her own prey and hurried back, feeling like she might faint.

Brian Walker ran quickly, and luck was on her side—she didn’t encounter any other wild beasts on the way back and left the edge of the forest without trouble.

“Teacher, this is my prey, number B510816429.” Brian Walker tossed the prey in front of the teacher in charge of tallying, then slipped away as soon as she finished speaking.

Because of the exam, some small vendors set up stalls in the safe zone not far from the forest. Brian Walker was starving, and the smell of all the hot food made her mouth water. She searched around before finally finding a vendor selling cheap nutrient drinks.

Popping open the cap, Brian Walker sipped the nutrient drink in small, careful gulps, savoring it as the delicious aromas wafted around her.

After downing a row of nutrient drinks, her dizziness finally eased a bit.

Sigh, when will she ever be free to drink nutrient drinks as she pleases?

Brian Walker no longer dreamed of getting rich. Until she became a true mecha pilot, she’d probably stay this poor and miserable.

Judging by the time, things should be wrapping up over there. Reluctantly, Brian Walker left the safe zone and headed toward the edge of the forest.

Most of the students had already come out, and the teacher in charge of tallying was surrounded by piles of prey. As Brian Walker approached, Peter Thompson happened to be carrying out two seriously injured students. The medical staff waiting nearby immediately carried the students into the mobile medical van for treatment.

“The 16th final exam of the 108th class is now over. Congratulations to all students who passed. See you next semester, and I hope everyone achieves the results they want in the graduation exam.” The grade director finished speaking and left with the teachers and the seriously injured students.

The other students all breathed a sigh of relief and headed for the safe zone.

With the final exam over, the pressure was gone for now. Faced with all the delicious food and fun in the safe zone, the students couldn’t resist the temptation.

“Brian Walker… thanks for earlier.” A classmate caught up to her to express their gratitude.

“It was nothing.” Brian Walker sniffed the air, swallowing her saliva several times without anyone noticing.

Can’t afford it, but at least she could enjoy the smell.

After being knocked out by Brian Walker in the forest, Edward Harris Sr. didn’t wake up for a long time. He almost missed the deadline because he had to go hunting again, and ended up failing the exam—though he made it just in time at the last second.

“Get whatever you want to eat, it’s on me.” Edward Harris Sr. said coolly to his lackeys.

“Thanks, Pig—Mr. Harris.” The lackeys all went off to buy whatever they wanted.

“Mr. Harris, these skewers are amazing! You have to try them.”

Edward Harris Sr. took the skewer from his lackey but didn’t eat it, showing little interest. As an A-rank, he was destined for one of the five top military academies, so he had to act differently from ordinary people.

But… just thinking that Brian Walker might also be an A-rank and could end up at one of the five military academies made Edward Harris Sr. feel stifled.

“Wude, what a coincidence.” Brian Walker spotted Edward Harris Sr. and cheerfully greeted him.

Hearing that familiar voice, Edward Harris Sr. froze. “!!!” Damn, he was terrified!

Brian Walker walked up to Edward Harris Sr.. “I see you’ve been holding that skewer for ages. Why aren’t you eating?”

Edward Harris Sr. really wanted to show his A-rank attitude and say, “None of your business,” but after being beaten by Brian Walker in the forest, he chickened out. “It’s cold, not very tasty.”

Brian Walker shook her head. “It’s wasteful to do that.”

What a lunatic! None of your business!!!

Edward Harris Sr. screamed internally, but on the outside, he forced himself to say, “Th-then I’ll eat it now.”
