Chapter 19

Switching between single attacks and normal attacks, with a pause of about a second in between due to cooldowns, but it basically works as a combo, and every hit is aimed at the head.

The effect is really impressive.

Attacking weak points gives a critical hit bonus, and with the combo plus crits, the boss’s face was never dry—blood flowed down its neck and into its clothes.

“Too brutal, I can’t even bear to watch.”

“Damn, just now I thought the boss hit him! So sneaky, he actually dodged it!”

“Holy crap, come to think of it, is he still at full health?”

“Yeah, seriously awesome.”

They couldn’t help but discuss the possibility that he was a pro player.

But as they chatted, someone brought up a key point.

With him carrying the whole team like this, hubby doesn’t even get a chance to shine!

If hubby were to take over, all he could do would be to crush the boss at full health, which wouldn’t impress this Sealer at all.

If hubby really stepped in, based on what this Sealer said earlier, he’d probably end up beating up hubby instead.

“……”

“!!!”

“What the @#¥%”

The fans originally wanted to see hubby slap his face, but now it’s the Sealer slapping theirs.

But soon, hope rose again—the boss’s health turned blood-red.

The only hard part about Boss One is when its health turns red. It will release a fan-shaped curse horizontally, and hiding behind a pillar is useless, because the curse passes through pillars and curses living things.

If you want to survive, you have to leave its attack range in time.

The area of this fan shape is pretty big, and in blood-red mode, the boss keeps chasing people with it, so players always lose health at this stage.

Everyone perked up, eagerly waiting to see this Sealer get chased around screaming, and then for the male god to swoop in and save him.

But he didn’t run at all.

Ethan Grant stepped out from behind the pillar, facing the boss head-on.

The boss, face covered in blood, glared at him with hatred, and swept its arm out fiercely, releasing the curse.

Ethan Grant took a step forward.

The skill’s light and shadow from the curse spread out, almost merging with him.

The next moment, he “threw himself into the boss’s arms,” sticking close to it. At the same time, the black curse formed a fan shape behind his back, whooshing out and hitting only the air behind him.

Chris Foster thought “oh snap” to himself and laughed, “Boss, 666!”

The fans immediately all knelt: “…Daddy!”

There’s a space between the boss and the curse—many players know this.

But first, the boss casts the skill too fast, and second, there’s very little room to maneuver, so timing it right is extremely hard. It’s considered a legendary pro move.

They’d seen Chris Foster pull it off before, but with Chris Foster’s skill level, they weren’t surprised.

Now, seeing a stranger do it so suddenly was truly shocking. Some couldn’t believe it, thinking he just got lucky, but then they saw him take a step back, leaving the boss’s embrace.

The boss saw him, roared in anger, and swept its arm again.

He stepped forward, timing it perfectly as the skill was about to go off, coming right up to the boss and dodging the curse again—his posture was as calm and mocking as could be.

The fans caught up with the male god’s pace: “Boss, 666!”

Chris Foster figured that kid was probably done running.

Earlier, dodging the boss around the pillar didn’t require much movement, but this was not something just anyone could pull off.

He made a snap decision, turned off voice chat, and snapped his fingers.

The person and the robot next to him both looked over.

This was at Chris Foster’s house.

Full-dive VR games don’t require sitting at a computer, so Chris Foster and William Bennett were playing on the sofa in the lounge area. William Bennett had been playing all day, and when he saw Chris Foster about to stream, he decided to take a half-hour break and have some fruit.

He was just eating when he heard the snap.

He asked, “What does that mean?”

The single-dog robot said, “He’s calling me.”

Chris Foster waited a bit, figuring the AI had heard the sound and was coming over.

He checked the battle situation, knew it was fine to step away for a bit, so he turned voice chat back on and took off his glasses to go AFK.

As soon as he took off the glasses, the streaming software and game voice channel disconnected.

The game sound effects were gone, but the stream was still live.

Chris Foster made a secret gesture to the AI.

The AI understood instantly.

So the fans heard the conversation from that side.

Chris Foster: “Hmm? What’s up?”

AI: “Master, you have a guest.”

Chris Foster was surprised: “This late?”

AI: “He seems pretty anxious.”

Chris Foster said, “Really.”

He silently counted to five, then apologized into the stream mic, “Sorry, I have a guest here, so that’s it for today. Next stream I’ll make it up to you guys by showing my face. Go to bed early, good night.”

After saying that, he ended the stream, shut everything down, then put his glasses back on and re-entered the game.

William Bennett was still holding his fork, having watched the whole operation from start to finish, and asked, “What kind of situation would make him do that?”
