Chapter 19

Edward Parker recalled this strangely familiar pheromone suppression, glanced at Ethan Brooks squatting nearby with a half-smile, then looked at Ethan Grant standing quietly not far behind Ethan Brooks, and realized he might have gone too far this time.

But fortunately, after all these years, aside from wanting to sleep in and skip morning self-study, Ethan Brooks had never let his family interfere in school matters.

Even the dumbest person has an instinct to protect themselves.

Edward Parker gritted his teeth. “Got it.”

  “Apologize.”

  “Sorry.”

“Who told you to apologize to me? Who told you to apologize here?” Ethan Brooks looked lazy, raising his hand to point at the corner where the Omegas were curled up. “Did you forget what kind of crap you just spouted with that big mouth of yours?”

  “…I remember, I was wrong.”

“It’s fine, your Mr. Ethan is a generous person. Tomorrow, at this same time, just give a speech under the national flag. It doesn’t have to be long, just ten thousand words. The topics are three: First, on how to say goodbye to straight-A cancer and become an Alpha who loves and respects Omegas. Second, on how to properly use toothpaste and a toothbrush to permanently get rid of bad breath. Third, on why the campus heartthrob of South Foreign Language School, Ethan Brooks, is so handsome.”

As he spoke, he patted Edward Parker’s shoulder appreciatively. “Even though you’re rebellious, as a father figure, I’m tolerant. Iron Ox, pull yourself together.”

Edward Parker wanted to just keel over right there.

Ethan Grant stood behind Ethan Brooks, wondering how this guy could get so cocky again so quickly. Without his own pheromones guiding him, he couldn’t imagine how much pain Ethan Brooks should be in right now.

  “Ethan Brooks.”

“Hmm?” Ethan Brooks turned his head, raising an eyebrow, catching sight of someone’s tall figure standing there like an icicle, and felt like he’d just been shown up again. “What?”

“Let’s go eat. The food’s getting cold.”

  “Oh, fine.”

Ethan Brooks stood up, stretched a bit, and called for William Turner to leave with him.

William Turner was fairly well-mannered, just a little uncomfortable, but still couldn’t help but comment, “Ethan Grant’s pheromones are really something—absolute suppression.”

Ethan Brooks looked completely confused. “That thing released pheromones just now? With so many Omegas around, what’s he showing off for?”

  “……”

William Turner figured Ethan Brooks’s nerves must be a mile thick.

But undifferentiated straight-A types are probably all like this. Not only Ethan Grant’s, he probably didn’t even notice the group Alpha pheromone battle just now. Plus, since he and Ethan Grant don’t get along, William Turner was afraid mentioning differentiation would upset him, so he didn’t say more.

After Ethan Brooks left, Ethan Grant withdrew his pheromones.

The Omegas, who had been both awestruck and frozen by Ethan Grant’s stunning looks, finally relaxed and swooned even harder.

So damn Alpha, seriously, so fucking Alpha! A real Alpha never bothers arguing with you—just suppresses you with pheromones, end of story!

And this Alpha has a godly face! Such a restrained vibe! Legs so long they reach my neck! And that tear mole is stealing my soul!

Aaaah! David is losing it again today!

But Ethan Grant didn’t stay behind to flirt with this group of Omegas.

He strolled over to Edward Parker, hands in his pockets, looking down at him. The gold-rimmed glasses gave his eyes a cold, hard glaze. He looked down from above, his voice low and indifferent.

“Ethan Brooks is a good person. I’m not. I have all the surveillance footage from the second-floor hallway that day.”

Edward Parker froze completely, lying on the ground like a corpse.

“So for today’s incident, you figure it out yourself. However much negative impact Ethan Brooks suffers, you’ll probably have to double it. Understand?”

  Edward Parker nodded, face ashen.

Ethan Grant withdrew his gaze, turned, and slowly walked toward the teaching building. Even in that last glance, there was clear disdain.

The reason Ethan Brooks patiently stuck around with Edward Parker was because he was worried this guy would lose all restraint, say something nasty, and ruin Grace Miller’s reputation.

But Ethan Grant also didn’t want anyone else causing trouble for Young Master Brooks.

After all this delay, the soup was probably cold by now. Someone so precious would start complaining again.

  Author’s note:

Ethan Jr.’s nerves are probably thicker than his waist.

Since this is my first time writing danmei, I really don’t know how it’s turning out. I’m just happy that some people like it! So starting today, the first twenty comments on each chapter will get a red envelope! After going VIP, the first hundred comments on each chapter will get a red envelope!

I hope everyone will keep loving me, all the way until Mr. Ethan and Master Grant get married!

  Mwah!

Chapter 8

The soup wasn’t cold, but today it was carp soup, which Ethan Brooks didn’t really like. He stirred it with a spoon, making half the class drool, but his face was expressionless, as if he were about to face a heroic death.

Ethan Grant couldn’t stand it anymore. He took off his glasses and pinched the bridge of his nose. “Now I finally know why you’re still not growing at your age.”

  Seventeen-year-old, 1.83-meter-tall Ethan Brooks: …

Everyone else under 1.83 meters: …

Ethan Brooks put down his spoon. “What, am I supposed to patch up the sky with my height?”

“Auntie said you’re too skinny, so she made this especially for you. Since you can’t have cilantro or celery, she went to a lot of trouble to get rid of the fishy taste.”

Ethan Grant easily found Ethan Brooks’s weak spot.
