Chapter 3

This time, it was accompanied by a marmot’s shriek: “Ahhh! Girls! The new transfer student in our class is an Alpha! So fucking handsome! I just passed by him and secretly caught a whiff of his pheromones, and I swear I’m already pregnant with my second child!”

Clang—

A sound of metal striking marble came from the back corner.

Ethan Brooks’s tilted chair landed firmly on the floor.

Next to him, Logan Reed practically jumped out of his seat: “Ahhh, oh my god, take me to see him! I want to smell him too!”

After his outburst, he sensed the atmosphere beside him was a bit off, so he immediately put on a righteous face: “But I bet he’s not as handsome as my Mr. Ethan. Once my Mr. Ethan differentiates, he’ll definitely be the most Alpha Alpha in South City—no contest!”

He turned to Ethan Brooks: “But Mr. Ethan, you turned 17 over the summer, right? How come you still haven’t differentiated? I think you’re the only one in our grade who hasn’t.”

Ethan Brooks was in a bit of a bad mood, but it didn’t stop him from showing off: “Top-tier Alphas always differentiate later.”

He paused, then added, “Because we’re strong.”

Logan Reed thought about it and decided it made sense.

He’d known Ethan Brooks since the first year of middle school, and had never seen him not ranked first in the grade. He was great at sports, a formidable fighter, stood at 1.83 meters, had fair skin, long legs, a striking face, and those peach blossom eyes that had probably bewitched countless Omegas.

There was even a group at South Foreign called [Want to Have Mr. Ethan’s Baby], packed not only with lovestruck Omegas and Betas, but even a few lust-driven Alphas who didn’t care about the consequences.

That’s how charming Mr. Ethan was.

Thinking of this, Logan Reed threw a flirtatious wink at Ethan Brooks: “Mr. Ethan, hurry up and differentiate, I’m waiting to chase after you.”

Ethan Brooks lazily curled his lips: “What, if I’m not an Alpha, you won’t chase me?”

“Of course! Us sweet little Os only like super Alphas—everyone else is just a girlfriend.” Logan Reed said shamelessly but with conviction, “So don’t worry, Mr. Ethan, until you become a top-tier Alpha, I’ll definitely keep myself pure for you!”

No sooner had Logan Reed finished than the homeroom teacher Old Grant’s honest, rustic voice sounded at the classroom door: “Everyone quiet down, stop making noise. Those eating or playing on your phones, put them away. And those copying homework, stop for now. I have two important things to say.”

“First, we have a new student transferring into our class this semester—”

Everyone turned to look at the door in unison, except for Ethan Brooks, who kept fiddling with his phone, looking indifferent.

What’s there to see? It’s not like he’s more handsome than me.

Then he heard Logan Reed next to him gulp: “Uh, Mr. Ethan, sorry, I take it back. I might not be able to keep myself pure for you after all. This is a bit too much to handle.”

“……”

Ethan Brooks felt offended.

He lifted his eyelids and looked toward the door, displeased.

Outside, rain poured down in torrents, the sky was dark and heavy. Inside, the room was quiet and brightly lit.

A boy stood at the boundary of light and shadow, tall and slender, his expression indifferent. The fluorescent lights cast a glaze over his pale skin, and his delicate, slightly thin features gave off a cold, sharp vibe.

A pair of gold-rimmed glasses rested on his high nose bridge, making his amber eyes seem even colder. The top button of his white shirt was fastened, perfectly framing his prominent Adam’s apple.

The more forbidden, the more tempting—even the tiny mole under his left eye exuded a scholarly yet wicked allure.

No matter how he looked at him, he found him irritating.

Ethan Brooks’s mood suddenly worsened.

Usually, when he was in a bad mood, he liked to make others feel worse.

His fingers tapped the desk twice, his voice lazy and drowsy.

“Logan Reed, your taste isn’t that great, huh.”

His voice was just loud enough for the person at the door to hear.

Author’s note:

Campus story / ABO / sweet fluff / strong x strong / slice of life / no mpreg / some private settings / straight-to-gay / alternate universe, don’t overthink it

Note: South City and North City are just convenient names, representing south and north. South City Foreign Language School, abbreviated as South Foreign, is roughly based on my own alma mater, not Nanjing Foreign Language School (the Jiangsu college entrance exam is too tough, I couldn’t bear to put my characters through that).

Also, this is an alternate universe, and many settings are based on my own high school’s system. For the sake of the plot, I’ll make up some things, so don’t overthink it~

I want this story to be about the most vivid, warm, bright, and pure youths. Some will be likable, some not so much, but there won’t be any villains who are unrealistically evil. Everyone has good and bad sides. It’s a daily-life sweet story—hope you enjoy it.

Chapter 2

The classroom fell silent.

Everyone looked toward the door, waiting for a reaction.

This new guy didn’t look like an easy one to deal with. Even though he kept his pheromones in check, just standing there made people feel uneasy.

Ethan Brooks was impressive, but since he hadn’t differentiated yet, facing an Alpha like this, he might not have the upper hand.

Yet this big shot didn’t react at all from start to finish. He just stood there with his eyes downcast, expression bland, not even sparing an extra glance.

Great, another one who’s mastered the art of acting cool to the extreme.
