Chapter 10

Andrew Bennett didn’t manage to get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that Henry Foster mentioned, nor did he win the lottery as he had hoped. His birthday seemed to be completely devoid of luck, with everything going wrong.

Henry Foster was, after all, just a junior agent and could only offer him some feeble comfort, saying there would be plenty more chances in the future and telling him not to let this affect his mood.

Andrew Bennett listened for a while and sighed deeply. “Sigh, I talked too big. Now I’m going to get slapped in the face. Is it too late to get plastic surgery and change my name?”

He had boasted shamelessly about some kind of twist during the livestream, and at least a thousand or two people had witnessed his words. The slap in the face was real.

“I really don’t know Andrew Bennett.” He said with a straight face, “Who’s that?”

Henry Foster: “……”

He thought Andrew Bennett would be heartbroken, but to his surprise, Andrew Bennett was actually worried about this. He really couldn’t understand these young people!

Is saving face really that important?!

“It’s better to lose fans early than late.” Andrew Bennett muttered to himself, “Better to lose them sooner than later.”

David Grant saw Andrew Bennett, walked over, and happened to hear this sentence. His eyes widened: “Lose what?”

Andrew Bennett sighed again, truly dejected: “Lose fans.”

After the annual party, someone leaked the news that William Clark had already arrived, and more and more reporters gathered outside the Fisher Hotel. Every car that left was stopped for photos and interviews, and even calling the police didn’t help. Later, upper management gave the order that, for safety and privacy reasons, everyone would stay at the hotel that night.

There weren’t enough reserved rooms, and Andrew Bennett wasn’t close to anyone, but luckily David Grant volunteered to share a room with him.

David Grant was a bit drunk and flopped onto the bed as soon as he entered the room.

After Andrew Bennett finished showering, David Grant was still lying there, seemingly even more drunk.

“I feel awful…” David Grant’s eyes were red and he reeked of alcohol. “I want to take a shower.”

Andrew Bennett was good at handling drunk people—he had experience. “You can’t shower right now. I’ll call room service and ask them to bring some hangover medicine.”

David Grant shook his head. “There are paparazzi. I—I brought some… it’s in my bag.”

Andrew Bennett searched around but couldn’t find the bag. “It’s not here. Where did you put your bag?”

David Grant mumbled, “Dressing room.”

After saying that, David Grant fell silent again.

The small hall that had been temporarily turned into a dressing room wasn’t far away. Andrew Bennett went to get the bag and came back, only to find the room door locked. No matter how he called for David Grant, there was no response—he must have passed out.

“……”

Andrew Bennett was petrified on the spot.

He hadn’t brought his room card or his phone, and was only wearing a bathrobe after his shower.

Truly a streak of bad luck.

Going downstairs was out of the question—who knew who he might run into in the elevator.

Fortunately, he reacted quickly. Everyone on this floor was from Star Realm, so he could borrow a phone from someone in another room to call the front desk and have them bring a room card to unlock his door.

He never expected that when he knocked on the door across the hall, the person who answered would be William Clark.

“It’s you.” Seeing him, William Clark’s eyes showed impatience. “What do you want?”

Then, William Clark frowned.

Andrew Bennett seemed to have just showered, his skin still steaming.

He was wearing nothing but a loose bathrobe, with a glimpse of fair chest and collarbone, and two straight legs showing beneath the robe.

Andrew Bennett was also stunned to see William Clark: “……”

As a former runway model, Andrew Bennett was already considered tall among Omegas, standing at a full 1.8 meters, but William Clark was much taller than him.

Earlier, William Clark had been arrogant, sitting on the sofa without even standing up. Now, standing in front of Andrew Bennett, he realized William Clark was nearly a whole head taller. The textbook said that the difference in physique was an innate advantage of adult Alphas. When necessary, Alphas would bite their partner’s nape and, in an absolutely domineering and irresistible manner, mark their partner completely.

Andrew Bennett didn’t know why his mind suddenly went in that direction and quickly dismissed the ridiculous thought.

He felt a bit awkward. “Um, sorry to bother you. Could I borrow your room phone for a moment?”

William Clark stood there, still wearing the same clothes as earlier.

He showed no intention of letting him in, his expression growing colder.

Andrew Bennett had to point to the door across the hall and explain, “I live across from you. I went to get some hangover medicine for a friend and forgot my room card. When I came back, I found the door locked. He’s drunk and I can’t wake him up, so I wanted to borrow your phone to call the front desk. I didn’t expect you’d be the one staying here.”

If he’d known in advance, Andrew Bennett would never have knocked on this door.

William Clark looked down at him, thinking: how could someone act so natural in front of their ex after a breakup?

So, does this mean he’s the only one who still cares?

“Forget it. Sorry to bother you.” Andrew Bennett was mortified, took a step back, and pretended not to care. “I’ll ask someone else for help.”

But he had barely taken a few steps when William Clark’s voice sounded from behind.

“Come in.”

Andrew Bennett turned back in surprise, almost doubting his own ears.
