Chapter 1

Fantasy Upcoming Release

When Grace Turner was young, she held a noble status, the little princess cherished by all of Yedu. Later, among the many condemned souls on the Six Realms’ Judgment Platform, she singled out the dying Brian Clark, whose immortal bones had been stripped from his body.

No one could have imagined that the boy, chosen at random by the little princess—his tendons severed, unable even to stand—would one day grit his teeth, swallow his own blood, and, relying on his sword, climb step by step: from lord, to Daoist sovereign, to sect master, until he finally ascended to the throne of the Immortal Realm.

Grace Turner always believed that even a heart of stone could be warmed. For thousands of years, she tried to warm Brian Clark's heart, but received not a shred of affection in return. Instead, she lived to hear the news that he had led his army to raze Yedu and welcomed back his long-suffering beloved.

On the day Brian Clark returned triumphant, the Celestial Palace was ablaze with lanterns and joy. In the main hall, he removed his armor, gripped his blood-stained sword, and said to Grace Turner, "This was not my wish, but something I was forced to do."

That night, Grace Turner turned herself into a raging fire, perishing with Brian Clark in a manner so tragic it nearly shattered her very soul.

Who could have known that, by a twist of fate, the two would return to a thousand years before.

At that time, the young Brian Clark was like a dying beast, his body covered in whip marks, barely clinging to life on the Judgment Platform.

This time, Grace Turner sat at the head, her gaze sweeping over Brian Clark without a pause.

After a moment, she extended her slender, jade-like finger and pointed not at Brian Clark, but at another youth beside him—one who had also just been punished, fierce as a wolf cub. Her red lips parted: "I want him."

Eric Bennett was a ghost of utmost evil. Abandoned by his closest kin at birth, scorned and reviled by all, he nevertheless possessed the most tenacious roots and the most enviable talent. He rose to fame young, strayed down a dark path, stained his hands with blood, committed countless crimes, and was ultimately crippled and stripped of his cultivation, then thrown onto the Six Realms’ Judgment Platform.

He thought his life would end there, but unexpectedly, among the six Daoist seats atop the platform, one person reached out a finger and carelessly pointed at him.

His savior was the Crown Princess of Yedu, Grace Turner.

She ordered his tendons and bones to be healed, gave him the finest medicine, taught him the arts of power and intrigue, and cultivated him into her most trusted confidant.

Eric Bennett transformed from a despised fiend into the illustrious, unfathomable Lord You in the eyes of the world.

At last, during a grand gathering of the Six Realms, Eric Bennett clashed with the equally prominent Brian Clark.

On the dueling stage, Eric Bennett once again became a demon. Dragging his broken wings, exuding a terrifying aura, he slowly and deliberately crushed the finger bones Brian Clark had stretched toward Grace Turner, his eyes brimming with a darkness and possessiveness that was utterly shocking.

Chapter 1

In July, torrential rain poured down on the Celestial Palace.

Grace Turner stepped out of Qingyuan Hall with a cold face, heading west. The hem of her dress fanned out in layered ruffles with every movement. Wherever she passed, the smiles on the faces of the immortal attendants vanished instantly. They knelt in long rows on either side of her path, shrouded in the hazy glow of lanterns like drifting mist.

In the downpour, the immortal attendants looked at her with both reverence and fear.

Grace Turner seemed not to notice, striding straight into Yunxiao Hall.

The chief eunuch at the door bowed to her in silence, as if he had already received some order, not daring to stop her.

The rain had become a curtain of water, the pattering sound echoing in her ears. Grace Turner crossed the threshold, her gaze sweeping the cold hall. She paused for a moment, then extended her palm and said, "Wait outside." As her words fell, she entered the inner hall alone, her slender figure soon hidden behind a beaded curtain.

The inner hall was filled with a warm fragrance. Beside an Eight Immortals cabinet, one man sat and another stood. The standing man had yet to remove his armor, a sword at his waist, exhaustion written on his face, though his eyes were gentle. The one sitting propped his head on his hand, eyes half-open, half-closed, sighing repeatedly in just a few breaths.

"Enough. I'll talk to Grace Turner about this," Adam Harris opened his eyes, glanced at Brian Clark, and said, "You can't talk your way out of this—the more you say, the worse it gets."

"Talk about what?" came a voice from behind. Grace Turner picked up the conversation, her tone icy as if frozen, every word laced with chill: "I'm right here. If you have something to say, say it to me directly."

Brian Clark and Adam Harris turned to look at her at the same time.

The woman, her long hair loose, wore a floor-length gown. With willow-leaf brows, an oval face, and almond-shaped eyes, her beauty was exquisite and refined, like a piece of delicate white porcelain steeped in ancient charm. Though her features were gentle and lovely, when she frowned and spoke coldly, she naturally exuded the noble aura of someone born to rule.

She was the pearl carefully nurtured by the Luohuang line of Yedu. If not for following Brian Clark in pacifying mountains and seas and expanding the realm, she would have already ascended the throne as Empress of Yedu by now.

Brian Clark took a step forward, his gaze at her more complicated than ever before. When he spoke, his voice was lower than usual: "Zhuyun said you went to Sangdi last month to capture the Sky Wolf King and were injured in the fight. Are you feeling better now?"

Grace Turner looked at the handsome face before her, pinched the edge of her sleeve, lowered her eyes, and called his full name: "Brian Clark, we've known each other for a thousand years. Today, I want you to tell me the truth."

"When I went to Sangdi to capture the Sky Wolf, where were you, and what were you doing?"
