Brian Sullivan propped himself up on one hand against the pillow, lowering his head to look at Eric Bennett. In the moment Eric Bennett turned his head, Brian Sullivan keenly noticed a small black mole on his neck as well.
“My mom says people with fair skin tend to get moles, and it’s actually true.”
After saying this, he acted like someone obsessed with collecting moles, lowering his head to kiss him again.
Brian Sullivan’s lips were very cool. When they suddenly touched the burning-hot neck, Eric Bennett instinctively tilted his head back. His jawline was beautiful, and with his head thrown back, it looked especially sharp.
Brian Sullivan wanted to go lower, but Eric Bennett pressed a hand to his chest to stop him.
“It’s hot,” Eric Bennett said bluntly, eyes closed, wrinkling the pure white pillow beneath his head. “Go turn on the air conditioner.”
Obediently, Brian Sullivan turned on the AC and came back, propping his head up with one hand, eyes lowered as he looked down at Eric Bennett lying on his back. After all the tossing around on the bed just now, Eric Bennett’s shirt had already ridden up from his waist.
The Eric Bennett in his dreams was still cuter, Brian Sullivan thought—not noisy or troublesome. Even though, under the warm yellow light, he didn’t seem quite real, he was still a pleasure to look at.
Brian Sullivan’s gaze swept over that smooth, lean waist, then followed the line up as he undid the last few buttons left on Eric Bennett’s shirt. Because he hadn’t been in the sun, the skin on Eric Bennett’s chest was especially pale, and Brian Sullivan immediately spotted a mole right in the center.
Unlike the others, this mole was red, as if a drop of blood was hidden inside, glowing bright red.
Dr. Shen the collector stared at it for a long time, then rubbed his eyes, feeling a strange heat in his chest.
He lifted a finger and pressed that little red dot as if flipping a switch. Suddenly, a faint, unclear gasp sounded from above.
Brian Sullivan felt a tingle at the crown of his head.
“Damn, stop tempting me…”
He took a deep breath, trying to push himself up, and Eric Bennett, in a daze, seemed to realize something too. Feeling inexplicably annoyed, he kicked Brian Sullivan hard. “Get lost.”
But his kick missed. As Brian Sullivan dodged, he grabbed Eric Bennett’s ankle.
Eric Bennett’s ankle was very slender, the skin smooth. Brian Sullivan couldn’t help but caress it for a moment.
Another low, muffled moan.
It was different from those in adult films—the man’s voice was a bit hoarse, a little cool, faint, but somehow it stoked the fire.
Suddenly, Brian Sullivan lowered his head, his gaze dark and unreadable as he looked toward the end of those legs.
This dream is way too wild.

Chapter 4: Aftermath
====================
Eric Bennett was woken up by a phone call.
He always had the habit of keeping his phone by his pillow when he slept, so he could answer it right away if anything happened.
“Hello.”
As soon as he spoke, Eric Bennett startled himself—his voice was terribly hoarse, probably from dehydration after a hangover, and it even hurt a little.
“Is that Xiao Xu? This is your aunt—”
Eric Bennett thought for a moment. His mom was an only child, so he shouldn’t have an aunt. Just as he was about to say something, the caller explained, “I’m your mom’s neighbor’s second cousin’s eldest brother-in-law’s younger cousin.”
“Oh…”
Ever since becoming a doctor, Eric Bennett felt like the number of relatives, acquaintances, and friends he had had at least doubled.
Eric Bennett rubbed his brow, for some reason feeling a bit sore in his arms, as if he’d spent the whole night lifting weights.
“What is it, Aunt?” He coughed twice, his throat still uncomfortable.
“Well, it’s about your cousin Lili—I mentioned her to your mom before. She’s due in two or three months and wants to ask if you can deliver her baby?”
“……” Eric Bennett: “I don’t do deliveries.”
“Oh come on, you’re an OB-GYN, right? I heard from your mom you’re even a department head! It’s settled then, come to Auntie’s house for dinner this weekend—”
Normally, Eric Bennett might have explained, but today he was so tired he didn’t want to say a single extra word. So he just perfunctorily replied, “Mm,” planning to ask his mom about it later.
A lot of people have some misconceptions about OB-GYNs, thinking they’re the main ones delivering babies. But in reality, for most healthy women with smooth labor, they might go from entering the delivery room to being discharged without a doctor ever laying a hand on them.
A straightforward natural birth is mainly handled by midwives. Only when the process is difficult, there’s heavy bleeding, or emergencies arise do doctors step in to assist with the delivery and decide whether to send the patient to the OR for emergency surgery.
As for the cases that end up in Eric Bennett’s hands, they’re probably not the one-in-a-million emergencies, but still tricky C-sections.
It’s like how some patients hope to get the doctor’s attention, but in reality, if a bunch of department heads and deputy heads are circling around you every day, it probably means your illness… isn’t easy to treat.
So for this cousin Lili, Eric Bennett’s best wish for her was that she’d never have to see him at all.
After hanging up, he felt especially exhausted for some reason. He lazily dropped his phone onto the bed, and with a “thud,” the back of his hand hit something furry.
He snapped his eyes open—and saw that under his hand… was a head.
